Is there an easy way to mount an OG camera to a tall pole outside (something like a flagpole)?
Large hose clamps is the first thing that comes to mind, not sure if that’s the look you’re going for? Cheap and easy.
If it is a new OG (2025 edition) then it has a standard 1/4” screw mount on the bottom so you might be able to find a bracket designed for pole mounting cameras and use that.
The OGs from before the 2025 version have a smaller screw mount, I think 4mm, but you can get 4mm to 1/4” adapters on amazon.
I have to imagine a pole mount with standard 1/4” thread must be pretty easy to find on amazon etc.

A good quality zip tie comes to mind. I’ve used zip ties and L brackets to quickly mount some of my Wyze cams and highly recommend for a fast easy mount.
My main issue with zip ties is even the black “UV rated” ones break down after a few years. I’ve switched to using stainless hose clamps for my antenna mast on the roof to hold the cables and they’ve been bulletproof.
I can see that being an issue I guess especially depending on where you live.
However, I’ve never had a problem with the zip ties breaking on my Wyze cameras. One of my old v3 cams has been strapped down with a zip tie for over three years without breaking. By my experience a high quality commercial zip tie will outlast the camera anyway. Because actually after 3 or 4 years most of my Wyze cameras outside have needed replacing anyway.
On the other hand, I get that zip ties are not ideal for long term installations but as always YMMV. ![]()
Hello abirddog & all . I purchased this tool initially for adding a 4-hose manifold to a hose bib and have used it for so many other Zip Tie required applications, and this is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I’ve no qualms with this one but there are other brands for you to choose.
My .02 - For your mount, if you have a welder, or a buddy with one, a stainless steel 1/4” stud welded to a stainless steel 6” section of whatever size pipe I.D. fits over your flag pole, and with these stainless steel zip ties added, I wager you’ll have no mounting issues for many years.
If stainless steel material isn’ an option, paint the mount so it doesn’t rust.
Yeah the zip tie tighteners are great, very handy.
Welding stainless is a royal pain so you’ll need someone with decent welding skills if you go that route. That’s why I suggested stainless hose clamps (they’re pretty much all stainless) you get a very tight fit without needing anything special.
Yessir. That’s my rust-free, mount & forget solution but, yes, there’s other ways. I also use round magnets that come with a .25 stud from Pilot Flying J but the rust comes eventually if not coated well.
