I receive all my notifications along with a sound without any issues until I connect my phone to my vehicle and am using Android Auto for my maps and directions. While connected to Android Auto in the vehicle I get Phone Calls and Messages, however when the notifications are sent by my cameras they do not trigger the sound on my phone. I have the Garage Controller send notifications when the garage door is open and have other cameras in the home send alarms when they hear the smoke alarm or if they see someone in the house. All the notifications work and the sound comes through when not connected to Android Auto but the sound is not activated which is a huge issue given the message is used for emergency notification. Is this a known issue ? Has anyone figured out how to make it work ?
Question - Is it possible to have notifications sent as a “text message” rather than a Notification ?
I don’t know the answer to that, and I don’t use Android Auto, but as an Android Wyze app user you could look into third-party notification managers (e.g., MacroDroid, Tasker, BuzzKill) to see if something like that would give you the kinds of notifications and notification control that you’re seeking.
Thanks… I found another note on the forum (a lot of digging) where the user showed how to use IFTTT which is an app that captures push notifications and resends a message as SMS. It is a work around, but it sure would be nice if we could have that available directly from our WYZE ap ![]()
Do you have automatic Google safety while driving turned on in your phone settings? Turns on DND and if no apps allowed in DND like Wyze to override DND, then no sound.
I’m guessing here but trying to help.
I think maybe I read that and your post in that topic. ![]()
That’s an interesting thought. Seems like it’d be worth trying. Thanks for the suggestion, @G2740! ![]()
Thanks - I double checked based on you suggestion and my Google setting is turned off for the option “Silence Notifications While Driving”
