The Battery Cam Pro has been riddles with firmware issues and connectivity issues. Each time I open a ticket (several times this year with no solution) the first request your support representatives ask is for the end user to get out the ladder, climb up and factory reset the camera.
Why is there NOT an option to factory reset the camera from the app? Or maybe when the camera is deleted from the user account it should auto factory reset.
Also, why can’t we switch Wi-Fi networks from within the app similar to how Reolink does? It needs to be factory reset again!
Why does every action require taking out the ladder, climbing 8 ft to the eve, removing the camera, factory resetting it? It’s dangerous for the handicapped, young and elderly people.
Please have the PM answer the post, because it’s asinine request of end users. PM did a terrible job a managing this product and hopefully they don’t manage future battery cameras releases.
Your Wishlist request was moved here in order to receive help from the forum community as some of your items are current functionality, some are existing wishlist requests and your request is not single-subject.
Please search the Wishlist category. All of your requests currently exist. You may add to each. I can’t do it for you. I can only move your entire post, not split up. Also, this is a user-to-user community. Wyze seldom chimes in here.
All my cams factory reset and go to “ready to connect” when deleted from the app. I don’t have a battery cam so I can’t confirm if it does or not, but one of your requests may already exist.
All my cams are mounted outside of windows or in places I can get to them easily, one has to expect that some interaction with a battery powered wireless cam will be needed from time to time.
As to your second statement, why waste your time providing an answer if you don’t have the knowledge or experience with the Battery Cam Pro? Ready to connect is not a factory reset according to Wyze….
Because even though I don’t have that particular cam, I have several other models, and all of them factory reset and go into “ready to connect” when deleted from the app. May or may not be relevant, if you don’t find it useful, ignore it.
Which is why I said “factory reset and go to “ready to connect””
I replaced both of my Battery Cam Pros with Tap0 C460s, and they instantly connect to live view, record all motion events, have spotlights that work without a subscription, and record 24/7 while powered by solar energy.
I don’t get how Wyze can sell this unit for $99 when the competitor’s is only $10 more. BCP feels like a failed product.
Just another example of a real occurrence. My elderly mother called her ISP to have them investigate the circuit due to slow speeds, and the technician replaced the modem/router. Once again, we take out the ladder, take down the camera, physically press the reset button, and reconfiguring the WiFi. In contrast, deleting the Tap0 C460 from the app actually factory resets the camera, allowing you to connect and configure it without needing a ladder or removing the camera. I can’t imagine our poor elderly having to call a low-voltage tech to reconfigure the BCP every time Wyze support asks the end user.
In this situation, the moderators’ instructions are to temporarily close the comments and to call in a Wyze employee. The Wyze employee may open comments again after they have a chance to review this thread.
