Not Receiving Exported Data/Integration with Apple Health

Hi…had my Waze scale X several months, and honestly, not many complaints…so far.

Issue now though….I tried today for the first time, to export data from the app. Tried several times this morning, and again not long ago. It claims to successfully have sent it to my e-mail address, which is the email I use on my account, which is via Sign in with Apple. However, I have not received the email. Most exports I’ve done from other places do it pretty instantaneously, but trying to give it some time. My first attempt this morning was over 15 hours ago, so pretty sure that’s not the issue.

The email forwards to my Gmail, and I’ve checked the spam folder and it hasn’t gone there, and also searched for the term Wyze, as well as to: the email address, and no sign of it. Not sure if the export function is not working at all, or it has something to do with the ‘masked’ email and forwarding, though have not had issues with Apple’s Hide my Email at all in the past.

The reason I’m wanting to export is because it seems when I updated my phone in October, the data from Wyze stopped updating to Health, and hoping I can get it in that way. Today, I tried to unauthorize, then re-authorize the connection, and see if that helps, though not sure what the deal is there. I suspect the phone switch was what prompted this issue. Still trying to work on that one as well…and not sure if this is an Apple/Health app issue, or a Waze one as well.

UPDATE: I did just receive an email from Wyze notifying me of the recent login to the forum (new device), so I highly suspect the issue is with the ability of the Waze app to actually export the data, and not an actual problem with a sent email not being delivered properly.

UPDATE 2: I just re-ran the export, typing in my actual email address instead of the email I use for my login - like I said, via Sign in with Apple. So for some reason, Wyze either won’t send to those, or something caught up in the forwarding. Either way, still have the issue of the data not flowing through to Health.

Yes, this happens to me everytime I uninstall and reinstall the Wyze app, and often when I switch phones if not all the data moves exactly. For some reason Wyze seems to store that particular setting locally instead of globally.

As for the export… Patience. IIRC from my past attempts at this over a weekend, it took until Monday for me to get it. It makes me wonder if a human has to manually approve the export, and they only work M-F.

I definitely remember I’ve had some exports take a couple of days.

Welcome to the Forum, @emcampbe!

I don’t have Scale X, but I use Scale S, and my experience with using the  Settings ➜ Export Data feature is that this causes the Wyze servers to send me an e-mail message with a spreadsheet/workbook attachment that contains my (poorly formatted) data. If that’s what you’re doing, then I’d expect Wyze to be sending you an e-mail message, though other users have reported difficulty receiving those in the past. I don’t know if a reason for that has ever been determined.

I say that just so you don’t expect the Export Data feature to fix the Apple Health sync issue, which I think is a separate problem. I don’t use Apple Health, so I don’t know if it allows you to upload/import data from another source (like a workbook) even if you receive that data.

I have never had this happen. In fact, I tried it again just a few minutes ago and received the e-mail message with the past year’s worth of data in a workbook within seconds. I wouldn’t expect this process to require any sort of human intervention, so I can’t account for any delays you’ve experienced. :man_shrugging:

I don’t do export often and it’s possible this was a long time ago or that I am confabulating my recall with another company’s export, but I would’ve bet more than 50% chance I have had it take longer before. But my confidence interval is not extremely high on this.

I often misremember things, too. I know that’s possible.

I’m not discounting your experience. What you’re saying might be accurate for you. I just wanted to chip in a welcome to @emcampbe and some additional information and note that I’ve never personally experienced a noticeable delay in receiving the export. I recall (going from memory here :crossed_fingers:) seeing other user reports here in the Forum where they describe trying to get an export but never receiving the e-mail, though I haven’t ever seen a solid explanation or solution for this. My supposition with many of those cases is that something is interfering on the user’s end (wrong e-mail address entered, weird proxy or forwarding situation, overly-aggressive spam filter, etc.) or other user error is involved. :man_shrugging:
