No events on Wyze Cam v3

I have two Cam V3 on latest app + firmware.

Neither are detecting/saving motion events. I am expecting just a still image and notification, because I am not subscribed. But, neither are working at all. Tried factory resetting both with no luck.

I also have a v4, on the same wifi network, and it works exactly as expected. Still image/notification for motion.

What am I missing??

These were both working fine about a month ago, I’ve just re-added them after moving to a new home. Can’t make sense of it.

One new observation. When I go to Settings > Event Recording, the “Motion” setting is toggled off. If I toggle it on, it just flips back to off when I visit the menu again.

On the latest Android app.

Latest app did nothing to help, still no events….

No events in the app at all or no notifications (or both)?

Do you have a detection zone set, and have you checked all your detection settings?

You can try the “reset services” option - typically that’s only for subscribers but I’ve seen where people have said it has fixed other glitches. It also seems to reset the detection/notification settings.

All else fails, delete the camera in the app. That should factory reset the cam too, but if not, do that manually. Then re-add the cam but use a slightly different name to ensure none of the old settings are imported. See if that helps.

No events or notifications, from v3 cams only.

Yes it has a detection area, but removing doesn’t change anything.

Motion tagging on, sensitivity high.

Event recording toggled off, because the app forces it to toggle off.

Factory reset and Reset Services already tried, no changes

Then you’ll get no events or notifications.

What do you mean by the app forces it off? Do you have an SD card?

If you have no subscription or SD card then I would not expect it to be able to record any events. Honestly I’m not sure if it will give you a still frame or not in that case, I’m guessing probably not.
