Bad audio codec.
Is there an easy fix for this? How do I know which CODEC I need?
Having a similar audio issue with the Wyze Cam Floodlight. Other cams (v3, v3Pro) working OK.
Event video clips and live feed do play sound OK. But try to play back or record from SD card, no sound (yes āRecord Soundā is selected). Funny thing: if I download an Event clip and play it the sound is normal. But if I edit that same clip with Google photo editor, the sound is gone when you play back.
My downloaded videos donāt have any audio either. I have an android samsung s20 ultra. Cameras are v3.

Try playing then with a different player such as VLC which you can get for free from the play store.
We know the downloads use a rather odd audio codec, try vlc and see if that works, if you donāt get audio that way go into the camera that youāre getting the clips from and go into the advanced settings and check to make sure that audio is turned on above the sync button. If this button is not on the camera will not record sound and this would be the cause of the issue although it sounds like when you watch the clips you have audio so that button should be on.

Installed a replacement Wyze Cam Floodlight and this one works better. It does not have the SD card audio playback problem, and I have not seen any more 3001 errors either. Seems to be a manufacturing defect.
Pretty telling that Wyze ignores this issue. When you submit a real support ticket, they will close it. Donāt buy Wyze. Iāve stopped a few friends already, so thatās good.
Im having the same issue atm same camera same event multiple videos ā¦ downloaded 2 videos 1 has audio and the other doesnt ā¦ of course its the audio of they guy screaming which was hilariousā¦ ugh (his dog chased my cat into our yard.my dog barked at him he screamed )

Because one of the two videos downloaded does play sound on the phone media player, I doubt it is a codec compatibility issue. Have you tried deleting the download and downloading it again?
Please confirm that both videos play with sound from The Events Viewer UI.
What firmware, app version, OS Version, and phone are you operating?
Have you gone to the SD Card and played the video with sound? Using the Record feature, do the videos saved to your Media Album play with the sound?
I also need this audio to work for court! It worked fine after I recorded it, now Iām 1 day from speaking with a judge and I donāt have the much needed audio. My instance is a bit different, my clips have sound for the beginning then it disappears where I need it to work most. You really are making my life difficult and keeping me in a dangerous situation wyze
