Night vision on Battery Cam Pro vs. V3 non-pro - expectations?

What should one expect regarding night vision on the Battery Cam Pro vs. a vanilla V3 (non-pro)? It’s as if the Battery Cam Pro doesn’t try too hard in low light or if you don’t have the IR or LED light on. I am not expecting miracles, but I would expect the unit to be on par with the V3 at least. Or do I have an issue with this particular Battery Cam Pro?

NIGHT VISION AUTO, BATTERY CAM PRO IR ON:

DAYTIME SCENE:

ANOTHER SCENE, NIGHT VISION ON, NO LIGHTS. The snow really “helps out” the V3 (top), not so much the Battery Cam Pro (bottom):

I asked WYZE Support about this, and this is expected behavior based on the design of the product:

The difference is normal due to different camera design.

For Wyze Cam v3, since there’s no spotlight, we have enhanced the color night vision at low light. On the other hand, Wyze Battery Cam Pro, since there’s a spotlight, we would prefer to turn light on during the night time for best color performance.

Also, Wyze Battery Cam Pro also have IR lights to help black and white night mode when light is off (though less than Wyze Cam v3). If it’s completely dark at night with lights on, we recommend checking if the IR light is On on the Advanced Settings.

So I’ll find another use for the Battery Cam Pro. I’ve been using two WYZE Cam Outdoors for years, and this new guy is a notch up.

I thanked support for confirming I have a properly functioning camera and offered the suggestion of adding the capability to “tweak” deeper settings (like “ISO”/brightness/etc) on the sensor if it’s possible, which I’m sure is a request WYZE has seen before many times!
