Two icons appear on the event video. They flash for an instant when the event is invoked, then vanish as the event plays, then reappear with the replay icon. They appear to be upload and download icons.
Tapping the upload icon behaves as I previously described. Tapping the download icon crashes the app, which asks for a restart.
There is no indication the event has been saved anywhere. No badge. No popup. No dialogue. After the supposed upload, the app page looks exactly like it did before the upload. If the event stays within the app, what’s the point of the upload? Does it actually upload?
I appreciate you hanging in here. I’m definitely a newb to the Wyze ecosystem and I’m having a hard time understanding it.
Share to where? The screen just goes black for a few seconds, then comes back to the event page. The share icon appears to do nothing and the download icon crashes the app.
What device and app version are you on? The share icon should pop up the share sheet to allow you to text or email or whatever the video.
Download lets you save to your phones photo album.
Everything in the events tab is already in the cloud
I couldn’t find any indication of the app versions on either Android or iOS. There are no typical “About” or “Help” links I could find in the app. I did find the Device Info:
Base Station firmware: 4.16.3.117
Cam Outdoor v2 firmware: 4.48.4.124
Android Plugin version: 2.33.0.4
iOS Plugin version: 2.33.1
You will find the App version in the Account Tab → About. Make sure you are using the most up to date app.
The Share icon launches into your OS Direct Share interface. You might need to take a look at your permissions for your Wyze app to allow access to your files and apps.
On Android 11, this is what should happen with both of those buttons (don’t use iOS so can’t help there):
Share:
Download: (it is quick, but there is a toast tile at the bottom that states it was downloaded to the system gallery - DCIM\WYZE\EVENT)

iOS Share, what ever you have chosen to add. And as stated, open the app to home page, tap account on the bottom right, then go to the bottom of the page, it will show “About”, the app settings above about are for clearing the cache. Current iOS app is 2.33.0 (17)

I was apparently a bit too active on the forum for my first day. I was locked out until 2 pm PDT.
I was/am up to date on the iOS app.
Android app is 2.33.1 (162) and Google Play Store does not have an update.
Thanks.

I used a 3rd party format utility to format a 128GB MicroSD card to FAT32. The base station now recognizes the card and event thumbnail images are saved to the card.
How do I get the event video recordings saved to the base station card?
I believe I already addressed this at least twice, If you are using Cam Plus you cant".

So the paid subscription–the highest tier plan–does not support base station local video storage. That’s ridiculous.
I do not understand the rationale behind the plan structures. One would expect the paid subscription to have all the bells and whistles. Cam Plus has no local storage, no Web View, and now, I’m completely lost.
Which plan(s) allow local video storage?
I don’t know the reason for why the backup to base station isn’t available on cam plus. Webview is available on cam plus, just not for battery powered devices.
It isn’t about the plan structures. It is about the technical capabilities and limitations of the cam itself.
The subscription plans, features, and services are not universally applicable to all cams. Each cam has its own specific capabilities and limitations as they are made for a specific purpose.
The WCO is a battery operated cam with special features, like remote operation, travel mode, PIR and a multi-cam base station. No other cams have these features. Because of these special features, this also means there are limitations to what it can do as compared to other cams. Most of these limitations are to conserve battery life. CamPlus Event videos can be up to 5 minutes long back to back with no cooldown. Your battery could be potentially drained in fraction of the time if it were both uploading and backing these up. CamPlus Lite event videos are only 12s with a 5m cooldown. WebView is for live streaming which requires constant cam operation. A function the WCO is not designed for. That’s why it doesn’t work for WebView which is only compatible cams with specific cams on CamPlus.
The WCO’s are the only cams that have this event backup feature. Plug in cams have resident SD cards, but they don’t back up event video. They record seperate continuous or motion activated video from the cam. The doorbells do not have any local video storage and are both incompatible with CamPlus Lite.
