Did you install Duo Cam Doorbell with the Chime Controller? If you didn’t, then I wonder if that’s part of the issue.
While it doesn’t appear that the Chime Controller (which is included with Video Doorbell v2) was available as a separate purchase when Duo Cam Doorbell launched, it’s apparently for sale as an accessory via the Wyze app but unfortunately not (yet?) on their Web site, though I’ve inquired about this. (That link takes you to the Duo Cam Doorbell announcement topic for more information about the Chime Controller’s availability. Further down in that topic is some discussion about what may be happening when these doorbells are hooked up to a home’s mechanical chime without the Chime Controller and why some people are experiencing phantom rings.)
My guess there is that you received the v3.2.5 app update, which enabled the option to select a home’s mechanical chime for Duo Cam Doorbell on Android devices. This feature was apparently missing for a lot of Android users previously, and the new app was supposed to deliver that (but also delivered some seemingly unrelated problems with some other camera models).
Yeah, I can imagine so. I’ve had my own frustrations with Video Doorbell v2 in the past and reading about the problems with Duo Cam Doorbell doesn’t make me eager to upgrade. Still, given Wyze’s history, I think they’ll eventually get issues ironed out with app and firmware updates, and I really do suspect that at least some of your issues might be related to the (lack of?) Chime Controller.
