I have a problem that suddenly sounds my chime without anyone touching the button (which is the setting I have)
Are you using a standard mechanical chime without the chime controller? If so, that seems to be a known issue/limitation. There is another thread here on the topic.
That happened to me, in addition to a buzzing sound and everyone suggested I get Chime controller. However, Wyze doesnt sell them as a separate item. Still trying to convince them to sell me one. The statement of being 100% compatible with the existing wiring is not accurate, given that it is not compatible with the mechanical Chime. I spent lots of $$$ in additional equipment and I cant get $10 controller. I like their equipment but not completely satisfied with their support.
I just bought the DUO and installed it yesterday. This is what chat support said
" Yes, you can actually only get when the doorbell is pressed. All you need to do is to disable the motion recording. You can do this by going to Event Recording and disable both motion and sound."
Then after testing this, it still triggers the mechanical doorbell. So they suggested
“Yes, actually. If that is the case, you can disable the notification instead. In this way, it will still record to your MicroSD card and continues to get events as well. But you will not be notified. The Notifiication can be found in the Settings of the camera.”
But this doesnt work either. I’ve disabled everything on the app including the chime set to NONE and I still have my mechanical chime triggered when there is motion or sound. So this was the final response
“Here’s how I can assist you better: I’ll document everything we’ve discussed today, including all we’ve discussed. I want to personally ensure that this reaches our technical specialists, who can further analyze the situation. They will provide you with updates directly via email as soon as they have more information. Does that sound good to you?”
I’m probably just going to return it at this point since I dont know how long its going to take for them to fix it, and these bugs should have never made it through final testing.
The general consensus here is that the duo is not compatible with a mechanical chime unless you have the chime controller. Whether they can fix that with firmware, who knows. Seems doubtful. You can jumper out (bypass) your mechanical chime and use digital ones or have it come through smart devices like Alexa, etc. May not be ideal but it is an option if you want to keep it.
