I had 2 v3 pros that would stop recording to the cloud at random times… I was told it was a software issue that only affects the v3 cams… I went out and bought 2 v4 cams and guess what l, they are doing the same thing… It’s not my internet cause I have nest cam that I used before I switched to wyze and it works flawlessly… When is wyze going to get their act together and stop producing mid quality items?
New v4 cams same results…
I was having issues with my v3 pros stop recording to the cloud at night… I was told it was avkiwn software issue that only affected the v3 cams and a fix was being woeked on… … I went out and bought 2 v4 cams and they are doing the same thing… I pay too much for the cameras and the cam plus service to be experiencing this… Has anybody come up with a solution for this and evidently it doesn’t only affect the v3 and v3 pro cameras.
I have a V3 Pro that has been recording cloud videos at night, every night since 10 November 2022 and a V4 that has been recording cloud videos at night since they came out in March 2024. Just because your Nest camera worked means nothing.
What are the settings on the cameras like sensitivity, Detection zones, smart detection, events or all motion events, night vision on off or auto, IR lights on, off, near or far, spot light on or off.
What does the wifi signal look like at the cameras, 1 bar, 2 bars or 3 bars.
What is your internet upload speed?
The fact that my nest camera works fine means everything. It shows there NOTHING wrong with the internet connection… The v3 pros worked fine untill one day they didn’t so there’s nothing wrong with the settings since I was told it’s a software bug that affects only the v3 cameras… The settings on the 2 v4s I bought are exactly the same as the v3s… So either wyze has no clue what they are talking about when it comes to the software glitch only affecting the v3’s only or they are lying… I’ve already sent the v4’s back for a refund…
V3 Pro (IR Lights are offf)
V4
I have both Wyze and Nest, and I’m afraid Nest does not always work flawlessly. They do “handle” the problem better though, by:
- Not have a ticking timestamp available on the live stream so you cannot tell right away that the camera is actually frozen
- Being able to partially upload cloud recordings when there’s a connection problem, so you can see about 2-5 seconds into the video before it stops
- Show an image download failure when you try to look at a recent activity (when I’m pretty sure they never uploaded it anywhere in the first place)
When my Wyze cameras have cloud recording upload problems (which is not as often as Google in my setup), I just switch over to SD recording to see what happened, whereas Nest gives me nothing.
Also, by the way, have you tried clicking on the Reset Services button under Camera Settings? It says it can rebind the service to enable cloud recordings. I have a rule that restart my cameras twice a week so maybe that’s why I’m not seeing as many issues.
I’ve never had issues with the nest cam. I just switched because thier cloud service was a bit high… And yes rebinding does help but I shouldn’t have to do that on a daily basis…
Agreed. But since I can just set the rules and forget about them, I’m fine with doing this. Workarounds are fine with me as long as they’re not painful.
