Must I use a specific USB cable when adding a second Wyze Cam to the Wyze Floodlight to retain the same water resistance capabilities? I’m adding a v3 Cam that I had laying around in a box and I’m not 100% sure the USB cable that I had been using with it was the one that came with it or built by Wyze at all. It fits, but should I wrap some electrical tape around it or something?

The V3 has a pigtail with a boot, so any size USB backshell will work, and be water sealed.

Something like the V3 Pro, which lacks the pigtail, needs a very specific backshell to water seal properly. Only ever use the cable that was provided for any model that doesn’t have a pigtail.

To be clear, this is the male end of a USB A end of a cable that plugs into the extra USB A female port on the Floodlight. There’s no boot like where the micro usb light addon attaches or anything, furthermore, I’m not sure I even know how a boot would work on a male end of a cable. I’ve only ever seen boots on the female ends of cables. Can you possibly send me a link or photo of what I might need?

Thank you!

No problem with all USB Type A ends on Wyze devices designed to protect them from the weather.

Awesome! Thank you for the quick reply!
