I was tired of forgetting to check the mouse traps in the basement, only to find that there was a gross decaying mouse stinking up the place. So now there’s a sensor in front of every trap, letting me know when there’s motion.

Google a phrase like sounds that deter mice. There appear to be a number of recordings that drive rodents away. if you could somehow get the motion detector or IFTTT to play those sounds it might be very helpful to drive them away permanently. If a motion detector could be used to activate the Wyze plug perhaps an electrician could rig up an electrocution chamber. Or a catapult or something.
