Moisture behind lens?

Is this moisture behind the glass lens? I tried wiping it off, but it doesn’t seem to have helped all that much. Is there anyway to fix this issue?

Just out of curiosity, do you have the camera hanging upside down with the image flipped 180 degrees to make it right side up?

I do not, camera is sitting atop of a light fixture, right side up.

I have plenty of V3’s the lens has lost the seal and sucked in moisture.

I have over 30 cams and at least a third of them have got the foggy lens issue, Wyze should fix this but won’t

Well that’s disappointing haha.

That is disappointing. I just recommended Wyze V3 for a friend to install outside.

I quit recommending Wyze some time ago, I recommend Reolink now. Every one I have recommended Wyze to I end up having to help with “Wyze-Issues” which takes time away from me. So I never recommend Wyze anymore and if asked about Wyze I steer them away…

EVERY Reolink system I have recommended I have NEVER had a call to help fix any issues because there has not been any problems…

Seems I never have issues with my multiple cams but soon after recommending Wyze, I get tech support calls.

I usually don’t recommend any company to anyone. I will tell them differences between things but make sure they always make their own choices and that they know that they are their own choices. There will always be perceived issues with every company in different ways no matter who a person chooses to go with. Avoiding recommending something means they can’t emotionally blame me for any dissatisfaction. I also make sure to tell everyone what their return policy time is and to make sure to return something if they aren’t satisfied with how it is currently working and what features it doesn’t have. If they’re not satisfied in any way I tell them they should return it right away, not complain about it later or it not getting something later. If you don’t like how it is right now, 100% return it.

Having said that, I like helping out my friends and family, but I want my help to be something that they appreciate and are grateful for, rather than coming from a position of entitlement and blame. This has worked great for me for the last 25 years. People love asking me for help, and I love helping them, and nobody ever blames me for their choices because they know I don’t make their choices for them or influence them. I have cameras from at least 5 different companies, will probably get some others too, and I will happily tell people things I personally like or dislike about all of them, and give them info and insights, etc. but I always absolutely make sure nobody can blame me for whatever they choose. I do like Wyze as my primary for lots of reasons, but just because they suit what I want best, doesn’t mean I think those should be the same reasons for everyone else too if they have different needs/wants.

Most definitely. That’s why I recommend they buy on Amazon. Amazon’s return policy is amazing.

Every Wyze recommendation in the past just becomes a nightmare, because I end up troubleshooting their problems.

Every Reolink recommendation has gone GREAT with zero issues and need for assistance.

Several people have dumped their Wyze cams and switched to Reolink and I never hear of Any issues.

They usually fail around a year give or take, well outside Amazons return policy. I would say half mine fail that are exposed to rain. If under cover they survive.

Mine does that in high humidity. One of the reasons I have not moved beyond just the one camera. It may be advertised as an outdoor rated camera, but I don’t think it really stands up to the elements. I noticed during the severe cold snap, when the temperature dropped below freezing it often did not detect movement even if I stood right in front of it and waved my arms. It got even worse when the temperature dropped below zero.

Try using a hair dryer. just don’t get it too hot.

I had one that this happened to. It is an original outdoor cam. I think I had it sitting on a deck railing, and it ended up sitting in a little puddle for a day. So the water kinda got in from the bottom, I assume. It was unusable with the water on the lens, and I worried that it would start corroding everything else. In my case, I just dried it out. I turned it off, and pointed it at the sun for a few days to try to heatblast it. The water dried up from the lens, and then I kept it inside for a few weeks to let it dry out more. It’s been fine since then…a few years. It’s still mounted outside and seems to be doing great (even without the cowboy hat installed!). Here is a photo from today:

Often drying it out if moisture got inside leaves blurry spots with the residual, sometimes small sometimes rather large in the field of view.

We get it. You love Reolink and think they are great. I have MANY brands of cameras and Reolink is near the bottom. Not just because it is a Chinese company , many of the camera companies are. They just don’t work well for me.

I have the same problem. The camera clears up after a few hours to days (depending on how bad the moisture problem is)…

Try using a hairdryer.
