Mint mobile internet and the Wyze camera

Inquiring if anyone opted for the Mint Mobile internet service and can advise whether your Wyze cameras work or not, or if some work while others stopped working. I am considering Mint as I have cell service with them, hoping to add internet service but not wanting my Wyze cameras to go out. I have various Wyze cameras, seven total. Thanks.

You should ask them what changes you can make to their gateway that uses 5G and then broadcast wifi.

Since it is powered by T-Mobile it would probably work since there are other users here that have set up cams on the same kind of setup. You will have to set up the cams again if you can’t name the network SSID/Passcode the same as you have now. Ask them if it does in fact have and broadcast both the 5.0 and 2.4 GHZ wifi networks, I am quite sue it does.

I haven’t tried it (I’m pleased with AT&T Fiber), but I’m also a Mint Mobile customer with my phone, for whatever that’s worth. What I’m seeing on their Home MINTernet page is that the “5G Home MINTernet comes with a T-Mobile branded 5G Gateway device.” I imagine that’s probably one of the devices listed on this T-Mobile page, so I’d be curious about which specific device Mint supplies and expect any potential problems to be related to the gateway itself. That’s probably what I’d be asking Mint about if I was considering a switch.

No reason it shouldn’t work, it is just T-Mobile Home Internet (TMHI). Mint is owned by Tmo as I’m assuming you’re aware.

That being said, cellular/5G internet will have higher latency than wired internet (probably not an issue for the cams) but is also the lowest priority on their network, below pretty much everything else. So if your area has their high bandwidth 5G and isn’t oversubscribed, probably not an issue, but I know there are lots of areas where the internet speed can fluctuate a lot, sometimes even being unusable. If it falls too low, that will impact your cams.

It works for me, 15 devices with no problems
