Million of (false) notification

Hi all

Wanted to get ppl advice on this one. Is anyone getting non stop notifications at night when the lighting condition changes (car light…etc.). I am not even pointing my wyze cam directly at the road. I want to get a doorbell cam from wyze but am afraid that I’ll get constant (false) notification. I think Wyze at least should include person detection with all cam or the software should be smart enough to know when a motion is cause my change in lighting. I think this is deliberate to force a sub.

I am looking at another brand for doorbell which includes human, pets, packages…etc detection without a sub.

Motion to any of these kinds of cams is literally “a change in lighting”. That’s how they detect motion, when X number of pixels changes.

On mine, using detection zones, aiming, and tweaking the sensitivity it works well. A couple false alerts here and there but that’s to be expected.

The subscription can help reduce it but headlights can cause issues with that too.

A Wyze Doorbell with a Cam Plus subscription should be able to filter what notifications you want or don’t want.

I have all Wyze v3 cameras and only want notifications for Person.

@donly - I am not aware of any other cam brand that is as comprehensive with AI and detection variety capabilities as Wyze. As stated by @dave27 and @StevenA, use of detection zones and cam+ unlimited subscription is your best solution along with tweaking settings. I have multiple cams that have street views, carving out the street with detection zones for vehicle traffic worked wonders for me.

I have several blink cams (not on sub) and placed one beside the Wyze cam and the Blink doesn’t give off notification on change of lighting condition. At night I get notification from wyze every few mins and nothing from blink.

Same for my neighbors. their Blink didn’t notify them (or record anything) when someone broke into their car right in the middle of the camera’s detection zone. Also did not notify them when someone walked up to their front door and tried to open it the other night. At least that one it got a few second recording of the person’s back as they walked away. Just a white blob since the night vision on them is pretty bad.

They asked me for the footage from my Wyze cams which I happily provided them. Full color, recorded everything.
