I just received my two Wyze Cam v2s yesterday and set them up without issue. One thing to mention is as soon as I had them setup I was prompted to update the firmware on both cameras, which I did. When I went to install the microSD cards, however, is where I encountered issues. Every time I installed the card the camera would still say there was no microSD card detected for local storage. There was also no audio feedback when inserting the card. I searched the forums for an answer and found numerous potential fixes from late 2018. I believe I tried nearly all of them. I have 2 microSD cards, neither of which work in either camera. Both cards work in my phone as well as my computer. I also tried the microSD from my phone in both cameras, which did not work. I have reformatted both cards in FAT32 as well as exFAT just for fun. Did not work. I reformatted the cards using the SanDisk formatting utility, the default PC formatting utility, as well as the formatting utility on my phone. Did not work. I tried power-cycling the cameras as well as doing a factory reset as suggested by a Wyze Wiz. Did not work. I am using SanDisk 32gb class 10 microSDs so there should be no issue with compatibility. Has anyone else had issues with this recently? Every other forum post I have found from late 2018 doesn’t seem to have a definitive “this is the problem, this is what you should do” answer to it. Any advice is much appreciated.

The cams can not see the cards at all, as if they’re not properly seated. They are. Normally when the cam mounts the cards it produces a ding-ding chime. I don’t hear the sound upon the insertion in the non-working cams and the cards don’t get recognized. But somehow the same cams will read and flash the firmware written to the same cards?? I’ve contacted the tech support via the chat option. They’re sending replacements.

Pharmer, have you received and tested the replacements?

Or anyone whose cameras have been replaced under warranty for the same problem?

I just purchased a bunch of new cams and pan cams and have the exact same issue on 4 of the 6 V2’s I purchased. I haven’t unboxed the others yet. I also haven’t unboxed the PAN yet. The camera’s don’t produce the chime when the card is inserted. I tried an SD card from a previous working V2 and it is not detected by the new cam and the sd card not detected in the new cam works fine on my previous V2. Looks like there is a QA issue on this batch. Chat Support walked me through the regular checks of factory reset, etc, but nothing helped. They need to send out replacements.

start a support ticket. there have been some issues with a limited number of cams, a user here found one issue himself and I believe it was reported to Wyze. the support ticket will help you with possible replacements

Just had the same issue, with my latest camera which arrived end of June. Cards which work in cameras purchased earlier, will not work No Bing / Bong when insert or remove card Only trouble is, am in the UK, purchased from Amazon.com, doubt it’ll be cost effective to return but we’ll see Mine was bought as camera and sense starter kit - no idea how we can link to a batch ? no serial numbers since the camera box has had 2 white labels stuck over the normal barcodes on the box, as did the sense kit box - odd to obliterate those numbers https://ibb.co/GxNPKQt Please let us know when its safe to buy again ?

When I had trouble with a camera not recognizing an SD card I found that I had to completely shut down the Wyze App. That means closing the App and swiping it in your recents list. Stuck the SD in and re-opened the Wyze App and the card was recognized and ready to be formatted.

I’d suggest contacting Amazon. They should replace the defective cameras.

It’s been reported by the investigative members here that the defective batch has been shipped with a missing resistor on the pcb.

Amazon have accepted the return, its just whether its cost effective for me to ship it back to the US thats the issue, its looking borderline Next issue is how/when we know that this bad batch has been flushed out of the sales channel and its (relatively ) safe to buy again

this is the detail you are looking for. I don’t have any more insight other than what is posted here though.
