anyone use the mesh router for a decoupled subnet so you can swap the modem without reconfiguring your internal network, avoid the need to update SSIDs, passwords, or device connections? i don’t really need the access point extension, i need the subnet in itself for security and decouplement, anything i should be aware of before setting this up?
I’m using the routers for basically the same purpose. Using bridge mode to my main router which provides the subnet and DHCP services. Main router blocks access from IoT to my main subnet. Depends on your main router.

If I understand your question, you just want to be able to switch to any ISP without impact to your existing LAN. If so, just use your own router and connect to the ISPs modem. The router can be mesh-type or not.
You might have to export your router’s config before you connect to the new ISP, then import your old config. That’s what I do.
If what you want is to decouple your IoTs from your normal LAN, there are routers that do that.
