Mesh Pro Router Installation Fail

@spamoni, I am using Ethernet. Moca uses coax, right?

So I need to wait till it turns solid blue before entering my network name & password? The app lets me proceed.

When it is blue, your phone is talking to the Router via BT. Then you setup the router and once it is done, it will switch you over to WiFi.

The Way I can tell if you have Ethernet depends on if your box is black or white. Open the ONT, if it is in a box, then:

The White one will have lights along the right side. you will see a light that says Moca and another that says Ethernet. If you have TV, the Moca will always be used. If you internet is Ethernet, you will see a cable plugged into the Ethernet port.

I have the black one, this is my setup:

Notice the Ethernet Port is being used and the light is on.

Yes, I have the same black ONT. Just ethernet coming out, no phone, no coax for TV.
When I pair to Bluetooth, my iPhone says it is connected to LO_MESH6E. The blue light is still flashing, not steady. The app then prompts me to name my networks. After that step is where it just hangs.

I appreciate you all helping me out with this, but at this point I am shipping this crap back to Wyze. It sounds like a nice product if it works, but for Support to tell me I have to use my existing router as a bridge for this to work is a non-starter.

Sorry you are experiencing this issue. Can I ask one more question. Does your SSID contain any extended characters. I recall that there may be a limitation on the characters allowed for the SSID.

No, they are Jax, Jax2, Jax6

I have been doing a little research, and I think I may have to release the DHCP lease from the Verizon router before powering it down. I’ll give that a try before kicking it to the curb.

That is definitely possible.

I think you will like the routers, My performance has been great and all the Wyze products have been amazingly stable.

I have been through 4 other Mesh routers before the Wyze Mesh Routers. I am impressed with the performance of these. I am going to install the Beta FW when I can, hoping I don’t have issues.

I tried releasing it, then ran over to the router and unplugged it, but I’m not sure if I got there in time. I’ll unplug the router overnight and try it in the morning. I think the ONT will release the lease after 2 hours.

If not, well I already have a return label.

Sounds.like a.plan.

I unplugged the Verizon router overnight Thursday. Woke up to my daughter frantic over no wifi. It was her work from home day.

So I unplugged it for 3 hours this afternoon, rebooted the ONT, and gave it one last try. :frowning:

So it’s back in the box and back to Wyze.

Thanks to everyone for your help!

Well, I’ve not dog in the fight. And I don’t use Wyze routers, because they are not big enough. But, sincerely, I am sorry you had any problems at all. Surely does not make sense considering the advice from a fellow Verizon Fiber user, and all the things you tried. I surely don’t blame you for returning it.

After sitting on the sidelines for a while, I picked up a pair of TP-Link Deco AXE5400’s, saved myself $60 over the cost of the Wyze routers that wouldn’t work, and the router setup was painless. And they support 6E!

I have the same. I could not use the Wyze because the device limit. TP-Link’s limit is twice that Wyze device count number.
