Massive phone battery drain after installing thermostat

Hey folks,

I finally got around to pulling new tstat wire so I can install my Wyze thermostat. It works great, but now my phone battery is being absolutely destroyed by the Wyze app.

I suspect it’s caused by the “smart switch” feature constantly pinging my location. I turned it off in the settings for the thermostat, but I still get notifications about my thermostat being given home/away notifications…

Wyze ate 28% of my battery today.

Any thoughts on this? I have battery optimization turned off for Wyze, otherwise I don’t get notifications reliably.

I don’t know, but in my experience phone battery life is entirely about screen time. When you get these repeated notifications is it waking your screen up for extended periods? On Android my own Display, Advanced, Screen Timeout is set for one minute but it can be as short as 15 seconds. Perhaps yours is longer?
