I agree. Something needs to be done about playback. Hard to find anything you are looking for by using the slider. And when using the slider it takes a long time before the video catches up so you don’t know if you have just not found what you are looking for or it hasn’t synched up to the requested time on the slider.

I like Google NEST event mark when play back,
when mouse roll over, show it’s sound/pet/package/person and show how long it is, with short video clip.

That would be great. But I would be happy for now if it has simple markers and two arrows to hop from event to event in playback. Eufy app has that too. Super convenient.

Hi Gwen, On the playback bar, is it possible just to change the color of the video turquoise bar to a different shade of turquoise or another color when events are recording? 
also when we mouse over the event in the playback, could the event tags be displayed? 
This would be helpful.
It would help if events showed up in a different color in my sd card playback. If I set sd card to events only, I can see the events but not the rest, if I set the sd card to 7x24 I cannot see the events. As well, it would help for the sd card events to also list the tags such as vehicle, person that triggered the event to record on the sd card.

Integrate Events Markers Directly Into Playback TimeLine
This is a pure software feature request.
FEATURE REQUEST
When viewing the recordings timeline for any Wyze camera, the detected events can appear as “marker” lines in the recording’s timeline itself. Then have buttons >| and |< to quickly move between events. This provides a very seamless navigation of events in a particular camera.
BENEFIT
Right now, the events view and recording view for a camera are separate and disjoint when they can be integrated for the user. It provides must faster detection of actual important events as scrolling in the recordings UI on many small portable devices is awkward and slow. Also, the camera appears to hang a lot when seeking back and forth a lot by hand (separate long running issue for me).
IMPLEMENTATION
This a purely software upgrade with no additional hardware required AFAIK. The camera firmware can just save simple long integer metadata representing the event’s starting epoch timestamp along with the recording files as the events occur. This requires negligible additional storage space and negligible CPU time as a long int is only 8-bytes long. The app can read back the list of epoch long integers metadata to populate the timeline in the UI.
P.S. I’ve been a (mostly) happy Wyzer for three years now. My how time flies! I have all the camera types except the Wyze Outdoor but I use them in both indoor and outdoor locations. Wyze cameras have made a big difference to my comfort & security at home. Previously, I used two other camera systems but I am all Wyze long ago.

Agreed, this greatly help to find those critical moments faster. This has been said before but, they are already trying to track kinds of events (person, pet etc) so they could even color code the marker lines.

Nest uses different colors for different zones.
Wyze could use different colors for different tags in the SD card playback.
With an option in filters to turn on various tags in the playback view. I really like the option of selecting tags of interest in events review mode.
As well, looking forward to hopefully seeing the 1x, 2x, 4x speed code from event review added to playback soon.

Recording/Playback/Saving Video
This has been an issue since Wyze became a company. I’ve been here since Wyze V1 first came out and it’s still a problem.
WE NEED THE ABILITY TO SELECT A START TIME AND END TIME AND DOWNLOAD THAT PORTION OF VIDEO FROM WITHIN THE APP.
I had to pull a video off of a camera SD card for a legal case I am working on. Here’s the issues.

“recording” the video from within the app… which means playing the entire video after pressing record and stopping it after it “records” the part I need doesn’t work for long videos. Tried to do this for a 20 minute video and once done I waited an hour incase processing was an issue, and it finalized by saving a 6 second clip out of 20 minutes with no audio. Not good enough.

Pulled the SD card from the camera after safely ejecting it through the wyze app. Ended up with 59 - 1 minute videos for every hour of video on the camera. Annoying but the video was there at least. IN THE APP i could hear audio in the video. When ejected and put into a pc the audio is gone. On every single clip. It makes a static noise at the start of each clip then no other sound. Put SD card back into camera and the sound is fine. Repeat at computer and again no audio.

To actually do what I need to do I had to use a second camera to record the app playback of the footage I needed so it would capture the entire thing AND include audio.
Wyze you guys REALLY need a better way for people to quickly select a time range, download the video to whatever device they are on, and then done. The current method, the same method we have had since 2017 is not good enough.

I think I just tried this and it seemed to work. I went to a section of my Cam v3 recording in playback from yesterday. I recorded a section while in playback then went to album and watched it. the audo is off by default. There is an audio tab at the bottom of the page?
Tick mark where motion begins
When I go to Playback from my SD card, there are areas highlighted in Blue.
When I view them there is NO motion until the very end of the Blue area.
I want a tick mark on the timeline showing exactly when the motion begins.

A simple and effective measure would have Wyze red mark start and blue mark end each event on the continous SD Card recording. This would make searching for specific events easier especially when viewing recorded events after returning home.

I gave up waiting for the software change, switched to Eufy, they have that feature.

Wyze wants paid subscription for everything? Not marking events, on micro sd cards, is a real deal breaker!
