Make long recording from playback

I think I have a good understanding of how to “record” a segment from the playback of the continuous recording on my SD card. I go to the start, hit record, wait until I’ve got what I want, and hit stop.

So far, so good.

If I want to make a really long recording, say an hour, is there a simpler way? (We had a totally awesome thunderstorm recently.) It’s a bit inconvenient waiting for time to tick by at on second per second until the hour is up.

Is there another way?

You can take the SD card out and put it in your computer and copy the files and then play them with VLC player

Thanks. I figured that. Looking for something more convenient (you know, so I don’t have to get off my couch :-), but also so it doesn’t take things offline while I’m messing around).

this might be a Wishlist topic you would be interested in.

if that were implemented you would be able to download multiple one minute increments then just use a video merge program to make a larger video of the segments.
