I have Cam Plus Lite. I still believe the freezing video started when I moved to the 2.48 version of the Wyze App.
I have a v3 cam doing the same thing it’s offline more then it works and this is supposed to be for security?
Its not. It was as brief thought.
From Tech Support today:
This is definitely not the experience that we want you to have and I will make sure to do my best to help you get this sorted.
No worries, we’ve reached out to the team and thanks to reports from users like you, our developers are aware of and actively investigating this issue. In order to assist them as they work toward a resolution, please continue submitting app logs.
To submit an app log:
- Please reproduce the issue, if possible.
- In the Wyze app, go to Account > Wyze Support > tap Submit a Log > select the affected device or service > select the relevant issue category.
- Enter any relevant details or associated support ticket request IDs in the Details section. You can also tap the + icon to add any relevant pictures or videos.
- Make sure the Send log files option is checked to ensure the logs are included.
- Tap Submit.
You can also submit a log through individual devices by tapping on the device, navigating to the device settings, and tapping Wyze Support > Submit a Log .
App logs are sent directly to our engineering team to use toward improving future app and firmware releases. These logs cannot be accessed or followed by our support team. We’re working on developing a process so that we can track these logs but it’s still very much in progress.
Ditto. One of my three v3s (all 3 on Cam Plus) has been doing this for months requiring a restart and sometimes power cycle. Wyze seems to be more focused on pushing their Cam Plus Unlimited subscriptions via daily emails and in-app advertising than anything else…very disappointing.
I sent in a log file, but did not hear back yet. This issue is still persisting for our setup. Live feed stops on all 10 WCO’s in 15-25 seconds. One v2 and one v3 cam are each fine.
It is only the WCO. It looks like there has been nothing from Wyze about this? It is not my hardware, something is up with the app.
You can send log files but you should also get a support ticket so you can send the log file # to whatever WYZE support member contacts you via email. Getting a support ticket can be a PITA sometimes . My Ticket is still open.
I too have been having freezing issues, but it seems to be the app that freezes because nothing I press doesn’t anything until around 20-30 seconds later. I’ve rebooted cameras many times, so I think it’s the app firmware 2.48.0 (6). I thought it might be my iPhone iOS but since Android users are also having this issue it must be the Wyze App.
The issues with the WCO not being able to view the live view on the app for longer than 18-20 seconds started with the firmware update of 6 November 2023. The iOS app 2.48 came out 19 December 2023. I have no issues with the V3 Pro or the V3 cameras continue to live stream on the app.
Wondering if the updated code in 2.48.0.6 to optimize the live stream connection of the battery cam pro affected the connection of the WCO cams. It’s the only thing that makes sense.
That said, never heard of the BCP, may have to buy one and check it out. I like that it’s stand alone and has a spotlight. I hope the next app release fixes this issue. I spent time this afternoon looking for a different vendor. We cannot continue this way much longer and it seems that Wyze thinks this is on our end.
I am having the same issue on both my outdoor v1 cams. My Pan 3 is not having the issue. Hopefully they fiz it soon they are pretty much uselessx as they are.
Same problem with my 3 Wyze Cam Outdoor cameras. They had been working fine before with no streaming issues. Now, they all freeze after 15 to 20 seconds, then go through the connection 1-2-3 process, then the cycle keeps repeating. I have rebooted and power cycled cameras, base stations and router. No improvement. All other Wyze cams are fine with no live streaming issues.
Glad to find this thread and that its not just my setup. This started around November 2023, I believe.
Hope they get to the bottom of this quickly as the cams are useless to me without this feature.
Has anyone heard anything more on this WCO live feed freeze? I have tried everything and the problem still persists. This problem is not on my end, cant be after using this setup without issue for 3 years.
I did buy a Wyze BCP camera to replace the WCO that we must have reliable live feed and it works very well. It is also the furthest camera, the range is impressive, the connection is solid, sharp picture and it has a light. Better than the WCO is all aspects for a few bucks more.
I may replace the whole network with BCP’s and not waste anymore time waiting.
No, nothing has been done about the issue. I contacted support weeks ago and it’s still an open ticket. Everyone that’s having the issue should be contacting support and opening tickets maybe then they’ll fix it?
The 2.49 app is still in Beta testing. I don’t know if they have included a fix for this issue or not. I did ask once.
I have a v3 on firmware 4.36.11.7095 that developed Live Stream freezing around the time when I updated to App version 2.48. I tried pushing the Setup button and reset it up and now the freezing is gone. I also move the v3 a couple of inches in my window.
Some things to try if you are having Live Stream freezing.
My ourdoir cameras have the picture freezing issue. I can watch, or record for about 15 seconds.
Strangely, I’ve found that if I turn on the microphone the picture doesn’t freeze
Good find dapede!
I just tried turning on the sound but it still froze after 18 seconds, But when I turn on the microphone to “speak”, it kept the live feed going. As soon as I turn the microphone off, it starts the same freeze process again.
I just tried one of my cams and you are correct, the cams did not go down to 0.0KB/s with the microphone on. Very strange but I am not going to leave the microphone on four WCO cameras on all day. I will use that method for now if I am relocating the cam to a different view or reviewing the videos recorded to the WCO SD card in scheduled event recording.
Same here, turning on the mic keeps the feed running. Nice find dapede.
