i just bought the wyze led light strip pros from amazon. i connected all the parts together, added a new item on the wyze app, followed the directions and it connected to the network. the window popped up stating a firmware update, so I loaded it, but I get the Oops something went wrong. I retry twice, the same results. Took off the new item on the app, press the side button until the led were blue and repeated the process. No joy. got another box of LED strip pros and had the same problem. what Im i doing wrong, or is the product bad?

What did Support say when you contacted them? If you haven’t already done so, I’d be inclined to submit a log from the app, open a ticket referring to the Log ID that you generated, and describe your experience in the ticket. I haven’t had this specific problem with Light Strip Pro, and mine’s currently showing Firmware Version 1.2.1.177 in the app (but the Release Notes & Firmware page shows 1.1.1.177 as the latest, which is weird, so I’m going to ask about that).
You could also wait and try again later, and/or you could try initiating the update via Account ➜ Firmware Update to see if that makes a difference.
Update! I got them both working. After updating my iPhone to iOS 18.6 I deleted & reinstalled the Wyze app, deleted & reinstalled the light strip pro & Wyze plug, the light strip pro has finally updated and the Wyze plug is now responding to the controls in the app!

I just purchased the light strip pro from Amazon 3 days ago and am having a similar issue. I don’t get an error message, it just keeps trying to update and stays that way for 12+ hours.
I have power cycled my eero router, power cycled my iPhone, made sure iPhone was up to date, made sure Wyze app was up to date, I logged out of Wyze and signed back in, deleted the app and redownloaded it, when setting up Wyze light pro I paused the 5G network so that the 2.4 network is only available. I made sure my eero router was up to date.
I have many different Wyze devices that are not having issues however I did notice that I was having issues with a Wyze plug. It’s really old. I probably got it before 2020. I set it up to use for my Halloween lights. It shows it’s connected and on the app but won’t turn off or on.
I am not sure if this issue is connected. I also noticed a delay at times or the light strip pro not turning off/on/changing colors/responding to app controls or a delay.
I just checked again to see if there’s an iOS update and there is. I will update my phone and see if this resolves the issue. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max.
