I have updated all cameras, my app is updated. My notifications are so ridiculously inconsistent it’s laughable. Ive missed multiple people coming onto my property. This is why I have these cameras ,All notifications are allowed and on. One week I will receive over 100 notifications a day if a leaf moves 3 miles away, then I won’t get anything at all. I have double and triple checked every notification/app option possible. Is the app this inconsistent for anyone else?
It is likely your android power saving kicking in.
Have you tried this?
Are your Event videos correctly Tagged as Person when people are in view?
Just trying to determine if your Notification issue is AI Tagging related or not.
I feel your pain. Nighttime detections are horrible on my cameras. I saw a related post that spoke of security settings in Xfinity gateways but mine is already set to the “solution" setting. Good luck!
I get very accurate Person Notifications, so I will share my setup in case it helps others.
I have Cam v3 cameras inside double pane windows looking out. Detection Sensitivity is set at 90. I have Xfinity but use my own Arris S33 modem and an Asus GT-BE 98 Pro WiFi router.
My wife and I got home late last night, so our porch lights were off. Still Wyze captured this Cloud video and correctly Tagged it as Person.
Thanks, your pic shows you have a LOT of ambient light at night. I bet the camera would be blinded by its own IR reflecting off the windows it it was dark outside. I live in the boonies with no lights visible at night. I’m glad you get helpful images.
Anyway that you can add lighting to your area?
I have been thinking of getting a couple gutter lights for my southern facing backyard.
Yeah, I suppose if Wyze suffers disabilities using its own IR, a 3rd party crutch may be needed. I’m leaning toward an IR floodlight instead of visible light to maintain subtlety to human awareness & reduce influence on nocturnal non-humans .
I have checked every setting possible. Have restarted all cameras, all detections are on, notifications allowed, battery saver wasn’t on nor an issue. Randomly got a camera is offline then back online notification this morning, still not a single detection whatsoever. I have walked past them all 50 times this weekend. Idk what else to think of. I guess Im glad I have them to check if I think about it but it kind of defeats the purpose if I’m busy and someone comes onto my property and I’m not notified. If anyone else has any other suggestions, they are very much welcome. Thanks for everyone’s response. Happy early Thanksgiving
Have you considered relaxing the security settings of Internet router/gateway? I read detections & events use different ports than streaming.
I wasn’t saying anything about battery saver, that’s totally different. If you read through that post and make sure everything is set that way (in the app and in android) it has helped others with similar issues.
The other explanation would be a wifi connectivity or internet upload speed issue. If your wifi has more interference one day than the next (which can happen when the signal strength is low especially) that can have an impact on notifications, especially if you’re using “smart” detections.
It is possible (especially ISP routers, they’re notorious for weird glitches) but pretty unlikely since the camera establishes all connectivity outbound, and OP says it is working some days and not others. If some malware detection was triggering it likely would never work. But like I said, not impossible.
