Making Notifications More Consistent / Reliable

This is on Android 14 with the 3.5 app. I’m assuming there is similar for iOS, but I can’t speak to that.

I have found this is the only way to get consistent notifications with the 3.5 app on my android 14 Pixel phone.

I have not seen any noticeable impact to battery life.

-In the wyze app - go into app settings and enable “running in background”
-In android settings - go to apps then Wyze. Go under battery settings and change it to “unrestricted”. Different flavors of Android may call it something different, but basically whatever is the least restrictive.
-When you exit the Wyze app, it will bring up a notification that says “Wyze is running in the background”. You can swipe this away every time, but if you just long press that notification, then hit the gear icon, you can disable “Notifications Manager”. That will prevent that message from coming up again.
-You can still see that it is in the background by swiping down from the top twice to get the full notifications screen, at the very bottom it will say “x apps are active” and tapping that you’ll see Wyze is one of them.

NOTE that when you restart your phone or force quit the wyze app, you need to launch the app (can then close it if you wish) to get it running in the background. It doesn’t automatically start. But then it will stay in the background until you reboot or force quit the app again. Closing the Wyze app in app switcher will keep it running in the background, just enough to give notifications.
