Last 2 app updates, cams reload every 3 seconds

4 of my 6 pan cam v3 constantly reload every 3 seconds rendering them useless. I have shared these cams and they work perfect on the sharing end which means the cams are fine. All firmware up to date. All 4 cams are at 3 seperate properties all recieving good wifi signal. I have cleared cache, i have unplugged, i have reistalled cams and app.
My original problem was the sd cards not being recognized. The latest firmware updates fixed that finally, but now this problem is actully worse because I can not even watch live. I now have app version

  • 3.5.5.669 (May 24, 2025) …but the problem started with app version
  • 3.4.5.650 (April 16, 2025). I rolled app back to version 3.4.0.640 and still had this issue.

Did you clear the Cache in the App only?

Basically, in the app, clear the Cache then, since you are on Android:

  • Close the App down
  • Long press the app icon
  • go to App Info
  • Select Storage and Cache, clear the Cache here as well. Do not do the storage
  • Then do a force stop
  • Restart the phone

see if that helps out at all

Just tried that. It did not make a difference.

Are the SD Cards in the Cameras? If so, working with one, try and remove it and the test. Writing to the SD Card while live streaming may be taxing it.

Just as a test

All have sd cards but 1. But remember, all the cameras work perfect for the person i shared them with.

I realize, just trying to reason it out.

Does not make sense that it restarts every 3 seconds, unless there is an Automation or something is being triggered because of load.

The SD card test was because I read of some one having issues when AD Card was in.

I find things like this intriguing.

If you try  Settings âžś Reset Services on the affected Cams, does that have any apparent effect?

If this is affecting only your experience as the account owner (not behaving this way for the person with whom you shared the cameras), then is it happening with all mobile devices you try when logged into the Wyze app with your account? In other words, if you have more than one mobile device (phone, tablet) that you can use to access the cameras with your Wyze account, is this happening with every device you try? If you use the Wyze app on only one phone or tablet, then I’m still wondering if you might have something on that phone that’s causing this, like some bit of app data that’s corrupt or problematic.

Also when you say “cams reload every 3 seconds”, does that mean that you’re seeing the view pane show the connection/authentication sequence every 3 seconds while you have the app open to an affected cam’s Live Stream screen? I’m trying to get a better understanding of what you’re experiencing, because I didn’t interpret your initial post to be describing an actual camera restart.

I know you said that you have tried clearing the app’s Android cache and that you’ve even reinstalled the app. If you’re willing to reinstall the app anyway, then I wonder if intentionally deleting all the app’s data would help.

This is how I would get a clean copy of my account profile/settings on Android (click/tap to expand):
  1. Clear the in-app cache: From the Wyze app’s home screen, navigate to Account ➜ App Settings ➜ Cache File Size ➜ Clear.
  2. Navigate back one screen to Account and tap Log Out at the bottom.
  3. Swipe the Wyze app out of the running Android apps.
  4. Long-press on the Wyze app’s launcher icon (on the phone’s home screen or wherever you tap to initially open the app) and then tap App info in the pop-up menu.
  5. Tap Force stop on the App info screen (may need to tap OK to confirm) and then tap Storage & cache.
  6. Tap Clear cache and Clear storage on the Storage screen.
  7. Back up one screen (back to App info) and then tap Open and proceed to log back into your Wyze account/app. (Optionally reboot the phone at this step for good measure and then launch the Wyze app after the fresh boot instead of relaunching it immediately from this screen.)

Note: I don’t know what the options would be for modifying these steps on iOS since I don’t use that platform.

 Doing this should also delete your login session, so you’d have to go through the 2FA process again. In your case, I’d probably modify that last step and do a few other things:

  1. Back up one screen (back to App info) and then tap  Uninstall, taking whatever steps are necessary to confirm this.
  2. Reboot the phone.
  3. Install Wyze app from Google Play Store.
  4. Reboot the phone.
  5. Launch the Wyze app and try again.

That’s fairly extreme, but I’d expect it to give you a fresher start with your profile data on the phone and perhaps clear out some cobwebs in the process. I’m puzzled by what’s happening here and why.

What exactly is “reloading”? You can’t mean rebooting, because that would also affect the shared accounts. Do you mean the app is reloading? Is the live view flickering? What?

So the live view will pause after 3 seconds, looking at the clock in the bottom corner of the live view…it sometimes will stay paused for up to 5 full seconds, then it will do the 3 step connection sequence until it comes back up to live stream. It will stay live for 3-5 seconds, then repaets.
I have also noticed when playing back from sd card, the footage is continuous without reconnecting. Its only on the live view on my phone.
I still need to try my login on another device.

When this happens, what is the data rate shown at the upper left corner of the camera live view? Maybe your router is using a busy channel?

Holy crap you fixed it!!! So because you said to look, I noticed all the cams im having issues with were in 360. As soon as I changed to HD…tadah! No more problems! Not sure why they were in 360, but i changed all of them and went back into app to make sure setting saved!!! Thank you so much!!!

That HD setting isn’t permanent. That rate depends on what the connection can sustain. At times when the camera can’t send enough frames, the rate falls again. better find out why that happens.
