Thinking about getting a larger solar panel for the BCP. Anyone have any good suggestions?
Lot of options for the 5W ones. Probably going to try out this one.
I have 2 BCP’s connected to Everexceed 5w solar panels from Amazon for over a year. The batteries are always at 100%. Placement of the solar panels is key to success. I live in the northeast and have excellent direct sunlight from morning to mid-afternoon. Panels sre facing south/southeast to horizon at about 45⁰ for 8 - 10 hrs of daytime sunlight.
My grandparents are also located in the northeast. They’ve noticed the BCP on a good day probably only receives around 15% charge from the wyze solar panel. The old WCO V2 probably draws much less power compared to the BCP. So we never really needed to worry about manually charging the camera around this time of year. Hopefully getting a larger panel would be able to top off the BCP daily. Thanks for sharing your experience.
