Is this a feature implemented with AI?

So I recently moved around my network nodes because my wifi was very erratic: I was having issues with 2 second cloud recordings and got better after fixing my wifi, but now even with wifi pretty stable it’s a bit weird again.

Setup:
ISP 50mbps/15mbps, 2.4Ghz wifi shows close to those speeds, ping 37ms
TP-Link AX6600-AX90 main router
TP-Link EAP650-Outdoor AP
Wyze Cam V3 x 4
Wyze Cam Pan V3 x 1
Cam Plus Unltd
Android app v3+, Web viewer for events

So I have motions that last around 1 minute or more, like animals walking around in front of camera. Now, the recording captures the motions that happened for example 3:01pm to 3:02pm, but the video itself is like 10 seconds long, with a lot of the motion action cut off kinda liked stitched video and the animals are teleporting around.

I tested today, disconnected every device, the AP, our computers, and only have main router and 1 wyze cam v3 turned on. the camera is 1 foot away from the router. i walked around, waved my arms, in the camera view for 2 minutes (2:38pm to 2:40pm). the recording thumbnail showed “2mins”, when i view the video, it’s 15sec long and has the same stitched-together effect with skipped few seconds and i look like teleporting around the room.

Now I’m curious, was there a recent update with AI processing that must be doing this to save cloud storage? All my cams are stable, live stream views rarely drop, and wifi streaming is good. Just the cloud recordings that I’m very confused about. I feel like I’m running out of options here. I welcome any inputs on this. Thank you!

Live streaming is all local as camera to phone or tablet on a local network. Cloud recordings are looping out through internet. Possible issues might be your ISP.
Are your upload speeds of 15Mbs stable or do they drop down?
Aare you cameras set to highest resolution?
How about detection sensitivity?
All the above can cause your stream to the cloud to stutter.

If no one else is having this issue, could totally be my setup (and ISP like you said).
-I don’t check speeds often, only 3-5x a day, 1/5 tests show 2.4ghz slows down to 7mbps/3mbps, then goes back to 50/15. there is an issue of congestion in our area during daytime and early night. but the videos stuttering also happened for example if a rabbit walked around our yard at 3am.
-all my cameras are set to 360p .
-detection sensitivity is 100%, 3 out of 5 cameras would usually collectively have a few hundred motions through the day. recordings were fine until before October2024 though.

I did experiment a bit and specified the max speeds for ALL my network devices, and found a setting for my wyze cams (max 900kbps upload, 600kbps download each) and cloud recordings would mostly playback nicely even for motions longer than 3 minutes. a few cloud recordings would still stutter but most have been pretty acceptable. as you said it is most probably my ISP. i live in rural and our internet is from a cellular tower.

That is one indication that the upload stream can’t handle your cameras. The cameras don’t care what is the download speed, it’s the upload stream that they need.

Same as mine

That is way to high, makes the cameras call home way to often which will choke your upstream, drop it around 50%, you won’t see a difference in notifications but your streaming will be much smoother.

Oooh, the worst of the bunch. No stable download or upload. I am in the same boat my friend.

Try to find a sweet spot between detection zone and sensitivity. I’ve spent countless hours until I dialled them down to where I wanted them to be.
