Is RTSP Ready for Prime Time?

I have 2 Wyze Cam v4 and 4 Cam v3. I am just looking into using RTSP. It looks like it can be activated on the v4 cams and is shown in the v3s in the Wyze app but I read on here that it isn’t ready for use on them. I just want to know what advantage there is to RTSP and if it is worth turning it on on the v4 cams. All the cameras are running in TinyCam Monitor Pro ver. 18.1.2 which shows it supports RTSP.

One AI suggests I use it on the v4 cams but not on the v3s.

That depends on your intended use case. RTSP-capable firmware for Cam v4 has not yet been released to users—not even for public beta testing—as far as I know. This is the last official message from Wyze that I’ve seen about it:

This is one Forum topic tracking RTSP for Cam v4:

My understanding is that tinyCam Monitor PRO is capable of converting camera streams to RTSP, even for cameras that don’t natively support this protocol, so that other clients can consume the RTSP stream. Native RTSP is not available for Cam v4 at this time, which is why some users rely on a third-party tool like tinyCam Monitor to accomplish this.
