To Crease, I love my window cams. I just experienced the night vision going dark. I read it is due to a recent update. I need someone to walk me thru on how to backtrack and remove the current update to solve this issue. It sounds very difficult. I am new to this forum. I am unsure if I am on the correct Wyze forum.
Welcome to the Forum, @phyllisann64! ![]()
If you’re describing a firmware update to your Window Cam, then the only update for that product that I’m aware of so far is what was released earlier this month. There is a process for flashing older firmware versions onto some Wyze Cams, and that usually involves downloading the desired firmware package from the Release Notes & Firmware page, but I haven’t seen this kind of thing extended to Cam OG or Wyze Cams based on Cam OG (which Window Cam seems to be), and no downloadable firmware is currently available in the section for Window Cam.
This would be a good general topic for discussing Window Cam. If you want to discuss a specific issue or issues that you’re experiencing, then it might be best to create a new topic in the Cameras category with a window-cam tag so that you can go into more detail, and you’re welcome to do that. If you’d prefer, I could also “Reply as linked Topic” so that we can try to address the issue(s) in a separate topic without going too far astray from this one. ![]()
Please feel free to “@mention” me with @Crease, as this generates a notification that I’ll be more likely to see. You can use the same method to get other specific users’ attention, if necessary. ![]()
I like this idea! Do you have a link or more information about a specific product that you’ve used or like for this purpose? I’m interested to learn how well something like this holds up with long-term use. ![]()
I’ve had a piece of electrostatic film on the windshield of my truck for over four years and it hasn’t peeled or fell off yet. My dash camera has a 3M sticky pad on it and it is pressed onto the film. I’ve never tried to reuse the film but I have a bunch of spare pieces to use if I ever need them. You can get the film in various sizes, mine ar 4” X 4”.
That’s cool, and dash cameras seemed to be the most frequent application I was seeing when I looked these up. The Window Cam Mounting Sticker is roughly 2½″ × 3½″ with a ⌀ 17⁄16″ hole.
WYZE should sell the mounting stickers as accessories, people change their minds-Frequently.

Oh, yeah. I agree
. I totally expect to see those available as accessories at some point.
@Crease, Hello I am still learning how to find/navigate the correct forums. I am using the Windshield Static Shield by MASIGO (a high quality for dash cams that capture light in control) high reviews. I purchased from Amazon. I have had no issues. I place the mounting sticker on my Window Cam (I then place it in the center of the static shield) I then put on my window. I have had no problems. Clean windows before using. I live in Colorado cold and heat. I believe these are 4”by6”. I can also remove my Window cam from the Wyze Velcro Sticker if I need too. It’s really working for me. The static shields need no special glues or anything like that.
That sounds excellent! Thank you for sharing! ![]()
I don’t recall ever seeing an announcement about this, and Wyze Shop currently shows it out of stock, but I happened across this a few minutes ago:
Since the Window Cam Tilt Mount is out of stock, there is a 20 degree tilt mount for v4 and OG cameras. Not sure if it will fit the Window Cam.
