Introducing Wyze Bulb Cam and Wyze Accessory Bulb! - 6/3/2025

Looked around but was unable to locate the Bulb Cam physical measurements (h x w x d)?

I’m interested but want an idea how far it’d stick out from my porch socket, unextended vs extended.

It would be helpful to have a detailed diagram of the dimensions including diameter, length of screw base, length from screw base to bottom of bulb section, overall length when not extended and when fully extended.

If you buy through Amazon, you can always return it if size is an issue.

Just so glad it doesn’t pan. I guess with 180° there is no need.

I must have bought the last one.

Thanks for these details, but it still doesn’t list length from screw base to bottom of bulb section, hence my suggestion of a detailed diagram. It would provide a better idea of the fit in any particular fixture. Just a suggestion, no biggie.

Looks like you found the measurements but here they are anyway

Wyze Bulb Cam (not extended): 2.36 x 2.36 x 8.27 (60 x 60 x 210 mm)
Wyze Bulb Cam (extended): 2.36 x 2.36 x 9.45 (60 x 60 x240 mm)
Wyze Accessory Bulb: 2.36 x 2.36 x 4.41 (60 x 60 x 112mm)

Edit: looks like @grapefruityoda also pulled them off the support site, thank you

What exact measurement are you looking for? End to end including the part that screws in?

bottom of screw base to bottom of bulb section?

Just a quick note of clarification to everyone, as the footnote in one of the pictures explains, this is not a motorized Pan/Tilt Camera. You manually extend the telescopic rod to your desired position, then manually aim it where you want it to watch. But the Field of View is 160 degrees, so it will nearly see everything besides the Wall behind it anyway and probably doesn’t really need to pan or tilt for most use cases anyway.

A lot of people will love the 3000K color temperature on these. I prefer things in a cooler temperature and higher lumens, but I know lots of people love outdoor lights in just this color temperature and slightly lower lumens for various reasons. I was surprised when I visited Hawaii recently to see that basically nobody uses bright or cool temperature lights outside at night at all. It was kind of neat.

I will still probably use one or 2 of these on some outdoor light fixtures I have.

I would be interested with the camera as a separate product. It would be an awesome replacement for pan cam V3; 2.5K resolution and very wide angle. The wide FOV means there’s no need to pan anymore.

So you’re thinking something more like a Lamp Socket, but one that could be controlled by a camera with 2.5K resolution and a wide FOV instead of using a V3 to control it? Yeah, that would be nice for lots of people. I keep trying to tell Wyze their Floodlight Pro camera is AWESOME and they need to make something identical to that, but the size of a V4 camera instead of a floodlight. I love that the FLPro has 180 degree view with 2.5K resolution, AND it also has free Local/Edge AI detection too! People have been asking Wyze to make cameras like that, but they’ve limited it to the FLPro, and not everyone needs a floodlight but would love everything else about it.

Some of the devices in the announcement video are black, but I don’t see those available on the product page. Is this situation going to be like when Duo Cam Doorbell was announced in two colors but silver wasn’t available at launch? (Incidentally, I see that Duo Cam Doorbell is currently available in silver; I’m not sure when that happened.) I’m not looking for a specific availability date for Bulb Cam in black. I just think that color might blend better in some applications (like the sconces I have outside my garage door) and wonder if Accessory Bulbs will be available in matching colors (i.e., with black bases).

Welcome to the Forum, @artzthings & @alamode!

I like my two Floodlight Pro’s because the camera itself isn’t the 'main attraction of the whole device. That’s what sold me on it. I can look at the floodlight from the street, and it doesn’t appear that there is a camera there. (some folks prefer the camera to be ‘front and center’, and that’s understandable)

And for that reason, the Wyze Bulb Cam is not something I can see a use case for.

I really want a porch light solution where the camera is as hidden as it can be.

If it was a Pan Cam, I would not have bought it.

Only 160° ??? I thought it was 180°, but documents say 160°. That should still work for me.

I had 6500°K for flood lights out front. Immediately changed them to 2700°K. 6500°K looks great in the kitchen, bathroom or operating room, but not in casual TV watching or reading. I do like that I can dial in my °K on my Kasa and Wyze bulbs.

I would use one on the door exiting my garage but it is too close to the sidewalk and might be too intrusive on the neighbor. I like my current front door light so I won’t replace it.

That would be interesting. I was hoping for a long glass tube to cover the camera from rain. Maybe tint the lense to hide it would be a nice option. Maybe not.

Totally agree with this. I LOVE that about the FLPros.

Not too long ago, my teenage daughter accidentally backed into my cul-de-sac neighbor’s truck. They were both backing out of driveways at the exact same time and neither was paying close attention, but it was clear in the video that my neighbor stopped in time, and my daughter didn’t. My daughter already admitted to me that it was her fault. She checked the mirror before she started backing up, but not WHILE she was backing up. It was totally my daughter’s fault. I looked up the video on my FLPro, and I immediately showed my neighbor the event and he got REALLY excited that I had a camera that could see our whole cul-de-sac and protect his house if needed. He had no idea all this time that my Floodlight Pro was a camera. Of course, I set it the detection zone to not trigger events for anything off my property, but I also record continuously just in case.

I also had another lady that was dealing with a domestic abuse situation as I documented in this thread, and my neighbor told her to come talk to me to get some evidence now that he knew I had cameras. She was excited that she could prove her side of the story.

Meh, you know you don’t have to use pan cams as pan cams. I have 2 of them that I don’t let track motion at all. I make them stay still because I don’t like them tracking “motion” because it’s always dumb stuff I don’t want it to track, but I will sometimes use it for convenience to adjust where it is pointed. I would buy more pan cams if they could be limited to ONLY track AI detections like People. I’ve been telling Wyze for years to update their pan cameras that way because I hate motion tracking. I actually gave away my Pan V3 to my brother because I couldn’t stand the motion tracking, so why wouldn’t I just use a fixed cam instead? He likes the panning more, so I let him have it. But yeah, I wouldn’t mind a pan cam for this kind of camera to keep a person fixed in the center of the view, but wouldn’t want it moving around on the lamp right next to my front door. I don’t know why, but I wouldn’t be comfortable with a camera moving a few feet from me standing at someone else’s door, so I’m sure others wouldn’t like that either. If that’s what you mean, then I totally understand that.

Oh yeah, you said too intrusive was a concern:

Makes sense. I have a couple places I want to put a camera, but it felt too intruisive, so I don’t. I’ve been tempted to give a free camera to a couple of my neighbors, just so they can point cameras to help cover our neighborhood too but let them have full control over their view.

Do you know why Wyze doesn’t want to consider non-American customers for their devices?
We have been requesting that they change their boards to be able to do 110v-240v, which is a very minor mod, but they don’t say anything. So we are left out when it comes to FLPro, BulbCam, Bulbs, Lamp Socket, etc, which are rated at 110V.
