I was excited about this until it turned out that it is STRICTLY for the US market!
Of course, Wyze is a US company that ONLY makes devices for the US market!
120V it is!
Thank you very much, Wyze.
I think it’s time I moved to the competition.

This Wyze bulb cam is certainly a great product concept. Can someone clarify the following. The description and video implies. 1-1-The power to the light socket remains on. 2-The camera works 24/7 because the power is on. 3-The bulb can be set to motion (in the app) so the bulb only turns on when motion is detected. Thank you Wyze people.

To answer your questions

  1. The power to the light socket remains on, this is what powers the camera 24/7

  2. Yes, the camera will work 24/7 as long as the power is on to the socket it is screwed into.

  3. The bulb can be set to only come on with motion, it also has options to come on at sunset and off at sunrise, or on any schedule you prefer.

Can it be flipped for top loading light fixtures?

My front light is completely covered for rain, but it is top loading. Usually it’s just an app setting, but I noticed all of the photos show it facing down.

No RGB!?

3 out of 5 just because I find it a bit on a large size. I like what the competition is doing with some that stay pretty close the size of the bulb.

As of functionality goes, I approve. I might even get one for the cottage as I don’t care much about aesthetics there. I don’t care what bears, racoons and beaver think how it looks like

Does the light turn on when motion is detected?

Yes, you can set it up to do that.

I am not sure how well that would work, I do not have on in my hands right now but I don’t think you could get the proper tilt needed from the cam if you flip it upside down.

Interesting product design. I always thought this type of light cam could be useful.

May put one in my fenced-in backyard.

Would like one out front but leary of theft. I would be interested if the cam was encased in glass or a more secure container. Understandably I wouldn’t have a need for IR.

Thanks @WyzeJasonJ for the update.
