We have 4 android smartphones and 7 v3 cam on my account and I have noticed lately that I only receive person push notifications randomly on the phones. Like not all phones get the notifications. That’s new to me, it has never done this before. Has anyone noticed that?
The app update to 3.2 caused my android phone’s notifications to get disabled. On the impacted phones, go into android settings → notifications → wyze → wyze notification and make sure “pop up on screen” is enabled and nothing else has gotten changed in there.
Yes all phones had “Pop on screen” enabled. The problem is that some notifications intermittently do not appear. And it is not always on the same phone. Like sometimes it could be my OnePlus and another time it could be my Samsung that won’t receive all notifications.
I’ve never tried having more than 2 phones set up for notifications. I wonder if 4 is too many. Do you have them all using the same account, or are they using guest accounts etc?
If it is intermittent then it probably isn’t a setting that needs to be checked, but you could try clearing the cache and/or uninstalling/reinstalling the app on all the devices. There’s been some glitches with app updates since 3.x started rolling out that an uninstall can sometimes fix.
If it just started in the last few days could be related to the 3.2 app update. Maybe a bug, or maybe the update just isn’t “clean” and the reinstall will help.
I have done extensive testing so far down to just 1 phone powered on. Even then, some notifications go missing. The person detection works as I can see from the events tab. Yes all the phones connected with 1 main account, no guest, and I don’t know if it could create a problem. Have not tested this so far. It’s only been doing this for the last few weeks.
So it detects and logs the events, fine but notifications aren’t coming through? If it has just been a few weeks I’m guessing probably a bug in one of the recent app updates.
Currently I only have one device with notifications, and they’re not AI notifications, just regular motion, but I haven’t noticed any not coming through.
Well, it appears that the new app version now requires to have “running in the background” to be able to receive push notifications on all my Android phones. This is new to me since I have never had to enable this setting in order to receive the push notifications. But now everything is working.
Strange, not in my case on Android 14 and a Pixel. Go into your android settings for the app and see what the battery usage is set to. Mine is on the default “optimized” and works fine, maybe yours is “restricted”?
Or maybe an uninstall and reinstall of the app will solve it. I’ve had to do that a couple of times with various 3.x updates.
