I no longer have home internet, is there anything i can do with my v4 besides selling it?

I know technically wyze cameras can work without internet, but tech support told me that the cameras would need to be reconnected to the internet once in a while to function properly, so am i screwed ?

In order to start the cameras and all other Wyze devices need to connect to the cloud servers. They won’t work without it.

The little support bot is improving.

2 things you can do,

  1. you can use your hotspot on your phone temporarily to
Update software on all devices and then disconnect it until you need to do any other Internet type stuff so you
Don’t use up all your hotspot!

  2. Walmart sells a little Hotspot box for $49.00
And it’s $25.00 a month for 10 GiGs of data
And it’s $50.00 a month for 25 GiGs of data
But usually 10 GiGs is enough to run a small camera
System for the entire month, especially if you have SD
    Cards in the cameras !

So for $25.00 a month you can have your camera system completely up and running!

Remember to just buy a cheeseburger fries and a coke at any fast food place is $15.00 or more so don’t eat at a fast food place only 1 time during the month you can have your camera system working!

So just think, there are some ideas!

Or just buy a camera that works with or without Internet, Reolink and many other brands will work😁

If you have an unlimited cellular, you can use your phone for internet access. No, I don’t mean to use your phone’s hotspot; your carrier has a cap on it.

You can use an Android app like EtherTether pro or similar to set up your own phone hotspot. To your carrier, it would appear like you’re using your phone’s web browser.

I used it as a backup internet connection when I was working from home and my ISP had frequent outages.
