What I am describing is not a “ping” on Wyze. Its not competition, because Wyze doesn’t offer this.
I have six cameras. Ranging in cost from $30 (2K resolution) to $44 (4K resolution) each. And I have a hub ($150). Connecting the six camera to the hub, I connected a 32” monitor to the hub via a HDMI port. I can add a a SSD of up to 16 TBs for local storage. Hub is limited to 16 cameras.
I have set up 8 virtual dashboards, Two with four cameras and four with one camera. I can rotate the dashboards from 1-20 minutes each to display on the large monitor, all the time, on a continuous cycle.
I can point these cameras at an Echo Show and see the images. I love it. It does this “so cheaply, I can’t believe it. I could not keep this to myself.
Well, well, well. I discovered something today, that I can do with my Tapo cams that I had to pay for the Cam Plus subscription to do. And on the Tapo, I can do it free.
I can create an Alexa routine and use the camera to trigger the routine. You can bury what the usual things you want to do in the routine, such as turning on a light to alert you, displaying the camera’s view on a Show. And when you add the camera as the “when” trigger you can choose between Motion or Person. Don’t need a subscription to do this. I’m using a couple of their cameras. But I was specifically using the cheap 2K $30 camera to do this “trigger”.
They are not yet providing support from the camera to a Fire TV, but it looks like you can send the camera’s view IF the TV is what called Alexa enabled. Meaning you can order Alexa to do things on the TV by voice command using the remote. So, the Alexa routine will work to the TV, but not to a Fire TV Stick plugged into that same TV.
