Hub won’t reconnect-connection timed out message

These problems are holding me back from buying a hub. Hopefully a fix is in the works.

I experienced a power outage and my hub was doing this. I unplugged the power and Ethernet cable and held down the reset button for about 10 seconds. I plugged back in the power and Ethernet and tried re adding. After that I unplugged the Ethernet cable and it was good to go.

This worked for me. Can’t say it’ll work for you but it sounds like I had the same symptoms as a lot of folks in this thread so I thought I would give my input.

SAME ISSUES AS EVERYONE ELSE! Cannot for the life of me add the hub back to my wyze app. Just will not pair, even after following the above outlined directions multiple times!

Did the keypads go out first then a couple of days later the whole system went down?

So i hope this helps someone. My sense hub was not connecting nor was it allowing me to add it back to the app. After several attempts of troubleshooting i disconnected the sense hub completely from the Internet and power and allowed it to drain the built in backup battery. The next day i plugged it back in and was able to get it reconnected to the Internet and to the app. Hope this helps someone.

I’ve done the same thing and indeed it worked as well.

I had this exact problem just now and I have no idea what specifically caused it but my hunch is that it was the most recent firmware update which happened around the same time the Hub stopped working. I tried the troubleshoot feature but no luck, so I deleted the Hub from my devices in the app and tried to reinstall it. No luck. I kept trying over and over but kept hitting the “connection timed out message” even when I was super quick about it and had my WiFi password copied and pasted lightning quick. Here’s how I eventually got it to work (mind you this feels like a fluke so not sure it’ll work for everyone)

I disconnected the Hub from power and just had it on batter. I moved it close to my router. I reset it by holding down the reset button for way longer than the 10 seconds (i held for around 30). I then tried to add it back via the app and again got the timeout message. I tried one more time and miraculously it connected this time!
Again, this feels like a fluke so not sure what the key step above was but maybe give it a try.

Also be sure to get all the way to the step on the app when it says check the box for ready to connect and go ahead and proceed and THEN hit the reset button on the back to save you 1-2 seconds. Also have your wifi password already copied so you just need to copy+paste it after selecting your wifi connection. I think speed may be how this all worked. I did all this while on battery and once all connected I plugged it back in and it’s working fine now along with sensors.

Too bad you have to go through such an exercise.

Same problem.
I got it to connect 1 time and then it wanted to do firmware upgrade which I let it do, said failed, so I tried again. Not sure if that ever worked.

Then would not connect so I removed from my app and now wont let me connect again, is this all a firmware problem?

Add me to the list too. I am about to leave some nasty reviews. Nothing has changed with my internet and it’s always ran off of my single 5g. I have had this for 3 years with the same internet. It has to be an issue with Wyze. My whole house is outfitted and you best believe I will change it all out and slam you guys. This is not acceptable.
