@habib - So you are saying the latest hot fix of the app, 2.38.4, is what is causing the app to allow the screen to timeout? Which is forcing us to either tap the screen every few minutes, or log back in the next time we want to see our cameras. It would be nice if Wyze would put it back.
For those suggesting to use the iPad’s setting of auto-lock = Never, that is not good for everyone. If I am in the Wyze app, I would like the auto-lock to be disabled somehow. But if I am not in the app, then I would like it to auto-lock. So it would be app dependent.
That is exactly what I’am saying, Head straight to the Fix it Friday thread and voice your opinion.
As far as I can tell, Wyze picks and chooses what they fix, so good luck. I have way to many issues with the newest interface that I decided to stay on version 2.38.2 as it works much better.
Good luck…
To me, that is a band-aid solution. Wyze needs to step up and provide a robust app solution. Bundling all those gadgets under one umbrella (Wyze app), is just asking for disaster. Something positive needs to be done…
We are looking into this timeout issue, it did happen when we issued the fix for the -1 issue along with some other things we are looking into. Getting onto Fix-It Friday would make it so that you have a weekly update, but we are already looking into it.
Wyze does pick and choose what to put on there, almost always I am the one that goes through each of the 4 communities and picks the one to grab. I always grab the one that is voted up the most at the time I go over it. I do sometimes grab an additional one to throw in, so every month we get 4 or 5 new ones. The next call-out for new issues will be next Friday (Feb 3). If you want it on there post it and get people over to vote on it. Lately, people have not been doing a lot of voting so I end up picking something I know we are not already working on. The original intention of Fix-It Friday was to focus on the bugs that mattered most to the users, we allowed the users to as which bug mattered the most and we put resources into that.
Jason, your efforts are greatly appreciated by everyone on this forum. The problem is not you, it’s your employer. They have their priorities mangled up.
Why vote? All bugs should be addressed equally, better yet squashed in alpha and beta releases.
I think people are getting fed up with issues not being addressed, hence lack of voting.
IMHO, all bugs matter no matter how insignificant might seem to Wyze.
As a side note, don’t get me wrong. I love Wyze. They brought low cost cameras choke full of features at prices that everyone can afford. Having said that, those cameras need to work as advertised.
I agree all bugs matter. I started as a user and was a volunteer mod on this forum prior to being employed. I advocate every day to fix the bugs we have. This leads into the answer to the first quoted statement and goes back to transparency and being friends with our customers. To be honest, there are too many bugs to treat them equally and try to fix them all at once. So we try to fix the ones that are the biggest pain points first. We are working on many more bugs than those that show up on Fix It Friday.
I don’t mind listening to a rant, some of them are deserved.
Thank you, although I am sure there are a few here who think different I try to do everything I can to make sure the users are heard.
Hi Jason, was there ever a work around or way to prevent the locking after this post? I use the camera as our baby monitor and the phone recently started locking but previously had stayed open all night.
