How do I go back to the previous version, please?
I own 13 v2 and v3 cameras.
Android.
Firmware is “up to date.”
Current app version is "v3.2.0 (590)
Search for APK mirror.
There are loads of posts explaining how to.
Too bad they don’t have a FAQ section.
You are my palywaly. Thank you.
I hope that is a good thing.
You’re most welcome.
heehee! Palywaly (apparently) is a southern thing. It just means like best buds who have each other’s backs.
Ah. Good. I live in Florida but we are not considered deep south.
How do I figure out what was the version before the one I got now, please?
Is it dependent on the V______ ? Or is it the parenthesis that matters?
The app was working the way I was used to yesterday, 10-23-2024.
Today it’s a nightmare, 10-24-2024.
I don’t think wyze took into account how fast some people (like me) move through the app. I scan and delete probably about a hundred event clips a day. Really fast cuz I’m used to the old app for about 7 years. I don’t even have to watch them all the way through cuz I’ve figured out how to id what’s going on by way of the green box in the thumbnail.
2.50.9.512
Depends on when you last updated your app. The Support pages have a list of the recent app updates. Here are the last few changes:
Here is the changelog weblink:
I don’t watch them too close, but I would say a high-numbered 3.1.x as you can find. 3.2 just came out. I am sure someone is deeper into Wyze history than myself.
Wow. You attracted some heavies.
FWIW, I don’t update my wyze app. Wyze updates my app.
Actually I did complain about that to the wyze rep on the phone today. I told her wyze needs to send out warning e-mails before people wake up and wonder if their phone has been hacked and infected with an imposter wyze app causing them to call wyze for an explanation en masse.
Ok but what about the in-between versions -
3.0
3.1
?
I’ll go with what you’re telling me but I’m just curious why skip those recent ones and go back to 2.5?
I’m my mom’s caretaker so I gotta go make her supper. But like the man said, “I’ll be back.” Thanks for trying to help.
We can’t tell you what you were running prior to the last update, but look at these 2 screenshots and maybe we can figure it out…
Which one looks most like what you were running?
3.2.x
2.50.x
Disable auto updates for the Wyze app in the play store then. Thats a setting that you have to change on your side on your phone. Since it appears you have auto updates enabled, i bet you were only one app version behind the current, which would be the second one down on my screen shot above.
Some things you can do to be “in the know” are sign up for the Wyze newsletters to be informed on upcoming stuff, set the Wyze News category here on the forum to “watching”. App updates and firmware updates re announced here on the forum in that category so if you “watch” it, you will get updates via email and here on the forum about upcoming software releases usually right before they go live.
Now that is very helpful! But when it was working mostly perfect it didn’t exactly look like either of those. But I guess that might have something to do with me only having cameras(?) Where can I go to look at some other screenshots of the different versions?
Please?
The app was working mostly perfect just before they started doing that favorites tab on the top left. I have no use for favorites since all my cameras are equally important. I need to keep an eye on our property from all directions.
However, I guess I would be thankful if I could just get the Delete/Trash Bin button back on the event playback screen instead of on the 3-dot menu. Thank you for trying to help!
The favorites tab was added on version 3.x of the app.
How did you view your cameras on the previous version of the app? All my cameras are equally important as well and you’re still able to group cameras in the new favorites tab and it operates the same as it did with the old app. Click a group of cameras and though that group is then displayed in your phone. The new 3.x app does have a new interface with the inclusion of the favorites tab, but I am all I like this display a lot better than the previous app. If you’re willing to give it a little bit of time and learn and become fluent with the new UI, you might enjoy it more than the old one.
In the screenshot of the old app that CPUP included, he only has groups of cameras visible. Did you have each camera listed individually? Or were they in groups? That’s what the old app version look like, you may not have had it in dark mode.
Hello AA,
No vulnerabilities I know of. Some people use 2.5 because their phone cannot access the 3.2. Like you, I only had cameras, but all in one group. I very rarely have issues.
It is odd, but placing all cams in a group and turning off most favorites did speed the refresh on the cams. I found the extra click worth it.
Recently, I added bulbs and sensors and added a friend’s camera from 45 miles south of where I live. I also made my Front door cam, bulbs and sensors as favorites. It does fill out the screen.
Here is my current configuration on 3.2.o (580)…
Today I found an issue with my shared cam. Just happened today. It alerted that the shared cam is offline but, it is not when I select it.
Hope this info helps.
Steve.
All the apps. If auto you may never know what caused an issue. I check once a day.
