Is there a way to disable the siren on my Pan v3? I want to make sure I never accidentally set that off as the camera is 300 miles away in a quiet vacation neighborhood. Every time I see the icon in the app I am afraid I might accidentally touch it . Or does it pop a confirmation button? Sorry if this sounds dumb but really a pain if that thing ever goes off!

Why not just move the button?
- On Cam Pan v3’s live view, swipe the “menu bar” (the icon strip beneath the live view pane) to the left until you see the Reorder button at the far right.
- Tap the Reorder button.
- Tap-hold-and-drag the Siren button to a new location, like to the right of the Privacy Mode icon, then release.
- Tap Done.
That’s what I’d do instead of trying a warranty-voiding disassembly process. You can do that even when you’re 300 miles away.
That’s good enough I think. It took a few tries to get to the reorder screen hence my concern about that siren button getting accidentally turned on and then not being able to turn it off because the app is kind of buggy and insensitive to my fingers.
Yeah, I dig. The Reorder button is something they added only a few months ago, and it’s something users have requested for a long time in order to reduce chances of accidental siren activation—especially parents who use these for baby monitors. I guess the good thing is that the siren is supposed to shut itself off after ~30 seconds if you do accidentally bump it, and the app should show you if the siren is actively sounding, but I’m totally with you on wanting to avoid bumping it if at all possible.
Sometimes I’ll use a stylus for touch screens if I’m having problems getting a fingertip to register. When I go to the Red Cross Donor Center in the winter, I try to carry a pen with one of those rubbery stylus tips on the back end with me, because the screen on the check-in notebook doesn’t want to register my cold fingertip.
Thanks for the reminder about this feature. I just moved my Siren all the way to the right since i never use buttons to the right of “SD Card, Take Photo and Record”.
