How long can i set a timelapse

I want to set a timelapse for 1 year in my backyard to see the trees leaves come off and back on. I dont own a v3 but does the v3 do this? Thanms

No. Maximum of a month.
And no, you can’t set up multiple one month time lapses to run one after another. Only solution would be to run a month long time lapse and after it ends, start another.

Is this still true?
And is there a maximum file size limit?

If I’m understanding the question, file size is not the limit (other than size of the µSD card), but rather duration. One month is still the limit.

Good to know. Thanks.

Most I did was 5 days.

Thanks, I had one bomb out after processing 1.9GB.
But at least now it appears possible to make at least small time lapses when I’m not on the local net.

Does changing the time interval affect your final outcome? Instead of 3 second intervals, maybe try 1 minute internvals or longer. It’s defintely a personal preference to use 3 seconds, but the savings could be massive.

The interval between frames would be a lot longer. So for faster moving things it would appear not that great. At 10 minutes, a 3 second interval would get you just under 7 seconds of video, whereas a one minute interval at 10 min would get you about 1/3 of a second video. And of course alot smaller of a video size.

I guess it depends what you are recording. I love the time calculator in the OG cam.

If you record for a month, how much granularity do you need?

It’s definitely a personal choice. Having options are good.

How large can a timelapse file grow before limits kick in or the dowload won’t download.

That’s one of the great unknowns.

It sure seems to be.
