I’m also in this club. 
Given the proposed height that @sg9 mentioned in the initial post and the area that’s depicted in the image, this was one of my thoughts, as well.
That’s a good thought, too, and a junction box installation wouldn’t even be necessary with the use of the Cam Floodlight Plug-In Mount. Seems like that’d be a good option given the location and plan for routing power.
