How do I clean the Wyze SOLAR PANEL?

Love the bird feeder … solar panel seems to work reasonably well (pretty cloudy these days). But, the birds. not only land on the perch and platform, but also on top and leave droppings on the solar panel. How do I clean this up?
thanks!

Welcome to the Forum, @bill.rocklin!

Did you search the Help Center?

Clean the surface of the solar panel by wiping it with a soft cloth dampened with water.

I imagine the dried stuff might require some gentle scrubbing, and I might be inclined to wear gloves (and thoroughly wash my hands afterward regardless) for that chore. There’s also this Forum topic, though it’s not specific to the Solar Panel itself:

And don’t use any glass cleaners they might strip the protective coating of the glass. Use only water and soap. Dishwashing soap like Dawn should be safe.

Can it be submerged in water?

I would not recommend it.

As @K6CCC recommended not to, I wouldn’t either. Even though they are outdoor and all weather rated I doubt that they are intended to be under water.

I concur with @K6CCC and @habib. If you check the product page for the regular Solar Panel (and I presume that what’s included with Bird Feeder is similar if not the same thing), then you’ll see that it’s IP65 rated and not intended for submersion.

thanks to all …

First remove the droppings as @habib mentioned. Use a microfiber towel to dry it. Once it’s dried, this is my secret to keeping solar panels clean… I use the TurtleWax Hybrid Solutions Pro Graphene Infused Flex Wax on the solar panels of cams (non-Wyze) and the panels remain spotless! Since my mounted panels are angled, water, etc. rolls right off. Bird droppings removal is as simple as using a spray bottle with water and spraying it off. I would prefer to use my hose, but do not want water entering the soffits due to wind or my sometimes poor aim.

I have also used the Ceramic spray wax as well. It will in no way damage it as the products are safe for plastic, etc and they’re non-abrasive as they are not “cleaner waxes”. The graphene infused product works the longest. I also apply it to any of my outdoor camera lenses as well. Do not rub the product hard, just gently coat the item and use another clean, low pile microfiber to take it off. I usually do the take off in one direction and shifting the clean microfiber to another clean spot if I need to do another wipe. Try it and I guarantee you’ll be amazed.
