I just set up a brand new Wyze Scale X. I am the primary user. As the primary user, the default user nickname is my email address associated with the account. I would like to change this to display my first name, but the app won’t let me. When I attempt to change it in the scale settings, I get a message that I need to change it in the general app settings. When I try to change my nickname in the general app settings, I am unable to do so, because “the nickname is already taken.” I don’t understand how this name is already taken, as I am the only user in my house. I am not looking to participate in social media with my bathroom scale. I just want to see my name instead of my email address in my user list.

Same issue here. I was able to add my wife with nickname “Wife,” but I can’t change my nickname from the E-mail address to “Husband” – I get “Sorry, that nickname has been used. Please make a new one.” I can understand why members of the household would need to have unique nicknames, but not why those nicknames would need to be globally unique (and if that’s the case, I find it really difficult to believe that nobody has picked the nickname “Wife” before). So I’m puzzled on both counts: why is “Husband” not available, and why is “Wife” not unavailable?
