I imagine a lot of it has to do with market/user share numbers, but that’s just a guess.
I get it. Just based on what I’ve read, Duo Cam Doorbell had many problems at launch that have been improved over time with firmware updates, but that’s still not enough to make me abandon my Video Doorbell v2. I like my OGs a lot, though, especially when they’re on sale. I think they were the second and third models (after Cam Pan v3, I think it was Cam OG and Cam OG Telephoto) to get the “Cameras as Chime” feature (which I still think they should rename)—having that even before regular Cam v3—so I have them doing double-duty as accessory doorbell chimes, which is handy for the garage. (I know you have a different doorbell solution.)
