How am I able to logon to my Wyze Account on my Laptop?

Noobie here, just bought Wyze Cam V4 in the UK and having issues with trying to login to my Wyze account on my laptop! iPhone is not an issue but no tag for Windows 11!

I try to logon to my Wyze account on my laptop, enter email address and password, click on Login and then ….

I go to my email select the code (CtrlC) and enter (CtrlV) it into the Code box……,

Then…nothing happens! Then try again, and again! Same result!

What am I doing wrong?

I use Roboform Password Manager for automatically inputting email address amd password, is this causing the problem?

Just FYI - I am using Mozilla Firefox as my browser!

Based in the message You have 2 Factor enabled. Because of this, you were sent an email with a code, 6 digit number, to an email starting with fre…

you will need to enter that code in the image you provided to continue

Yes, did that! Still nothing happens!

An update two minutes ago I tried using Edge and was able to login successfully, so an issue with Mozilla perhaps! Clear cache and try again!

Wyze Web View doesn’t work properly with Mozilla based browsers. It works fine with Chromium and WebKit based browsers.

That’s not good for all those Mozilla users out there!

I have cleared Mozilla cookies and cache - same result web page just sits there with the Wyze Verification Code - doing nothing!

Agreed but it is what it is.

On my Linux laptop I have been using the Vivaldi browser. It is based on Chromium and very customizable. Also, available for Windows, Mac, Android and IOS.

I don’t know why there would be a login issue with Firefox unless you have some funky browser settings or extensions interfering somehow. I use it on Linux and just logged into the Web View. :man_shrugging:

Using Edge or another Chromium-based browser is probably the answer here.

No, but it’s what Wyze officially supports for Web View. Like I said, I can log into Web View using Firefox and see most of my cameras without any significant problem, but I’ve never seen any of my Cam OGs connect in Web View using Firefox. They work as expected when I use Chrome.

Not all WebKit-based browsers, apparently:

I’m not sure what the issue is there. I kind of expect it with surf, because that’s such a minimalist browser (and uses WebKitGTK, which I guess technically isn’t the same as WebKit, but I thought it was worth trying). GNOME Web isn’t quite so bare-bones, but it lacks the settings flexibility and features of more popular browsers, so I’m not too surprised that it also failed.

I’ve played with that some on Linux and Windows but have never adopted it full time and tend to forget about it. Good call! :+1:

I have no issues using Firefox on a Mac, works fine for me.

It does work with FireFox, just not overly well - lots of issues. One of the few things I use Chrome for on my computers. This work computer I have no choice as I am forced to use Chrome (or worse, Edge).

Do you have any Cam OGs, though? I primarily use both Firefox and Chrome on Linux and Windows, and I’ve never seen any Cam OGs connect and stream in Web View on Firefox: It always tries but eventually errors out.

My comment about Cam OGs probably doesn’t help @Jet_Lag, though. I’ve been able to stream Cam v4s in Firefox without issues. (I’m writing this post in Chrome but have a 4-camera view open in Firefox that’s streaming a Bulb Cam and two Cam v4s but continuing to puke on a Cam OG feed.) I still think there might be something going on in the browser.

@Jet_Lag, what happens if you restart Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode ( ➜ Help ➜ Troubleshoot Mode…)? You could also do a refresh, but I’d start with Troubleshoot Mode if you really want to try using Firefox with Web View. Ultimately, though, it may be easiest just to stick with Edge for Web View since that’s a supported browser and is working for you.

I wonder what is the reason why Wyze is not officially supporting Firefox, it’s been around longer than any of the Chromium based browsers and in my opinion it is as robust if not more than anything else out there.

I can log into Web View from Firefox/Mozilla. The only issue is that it keeps asking for 2FA every time.

No I don’t, and without derailing the thread, when they were first introduced they were plagued with issues and I find them subpar to any other cam offerings (except battery operated). For those reasons alone I will never get one (or battery cam) no matter how cheap they go.

I imagine a lot of it has to do with market/user share numbers, but that’s just a guess.

I get it. Just based on what I’ve read, Duo Cam Doorbell had many problems at launch that have been improved over time with firmware updates, but that’s still not enough to make me abandon my Video Doorbell v2. I like my OGs a lot, though, especially when they’re on sale. I think they were the second and third models (after Cam Pan v3, I think it was Cam OG and Cam OG Telephoto) to get the “Cameras as Chime” feature (which I still think they should rename)—having that even before regular Cam v3—so I have them doing double-duty as accessory doorbell chimes, which is handy for the garage. (I know you have a different doorbell solution.)

I think @Jet_Lag already supplied the solution:

I’m still curious about what Troubleshoot Mode would do in this case.

I imagine that Wyze is doing some non-standard stuff that’s not compatible with Firefox.

I have a web note-taking app running on a local server and accessible from a browser. In Firefox, if I link to Web View from that app, it says, *Suspicious source detected, please go to official Wyze sites and try again.

If I type the same link manually, it works. Links to other websites work, not Web View.

Personally, I think that Firefox has a quite big market share. I’m guessing some coding issues :person_shrugging:

I wasn’t even going to go there

Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Firefox has been my browser of choice for MANY years.

In May 2025, StatCounter Global Stats data shows that Google Chrome dominates the browser market share, holding 66.85% globally. Apple’s Safari comes in second, with 17.19%. Microsoft Edge holds 5.21%, followed by Firefox at 2.39%. Samsung Internet has 2.12% and Opera has 1.91%.

That’s surprising :open_mouth:

Thank you Crease, I tried Firefox in both Troubleshoot Mode and Refresh, but same results in both modes. Always asking for 2FA and screen locking after entering the Verification code!

I am able to use Edge (Passcode saved successfully) as a workaround, but it is a pain because my default browser is Firefox!

Sounds like Wyze need to have a colab with Mozilla, despite usage alledgedly being 2.39%, I feel sure that will equate to many millions of internet users!
