Would love to view camera and see what the temperature is. Especially outbuildings like sheds, kennels, animal enclosures and greenhouses. Maybe even set an alert if temp reaches a certain degree.
Great idea.
Seriously, only two of us could appreciate this idea?
An object that is made to function in all climates, can’t see a need for a user to want and maybe even need to see what the temperature is in the area of said object?
Pets, livestock, kids, coats, HVAC malfunction, pre-heat/cool vehicle, stay in bed, sunscreen, and on and on.
I guess it’s futile to suggest further weather update like humidity, air quality, lightening strikes, wind speed etc.
But let’s make sure my camera can notify me of me as a “friendly face”.
I have a camera from another brand that does this. It is a cool idea. I will say that it is not very accurate though. The electronic components in the camera end up influencing the temperature sensor such that it is often several degrees off of whatever any other dedicated temp sensor shows.
Still, it is kind of cool to have, especially if it can track the temp history so that even if it can be off by a few degrees, you can still get a general idea of fluctuation, etc.
For Wyze’s part, I think the main reason it’s less likely to happen is that it would bring some added cost for something a portion of their customer base wouldn’t want/use, and they try to keep costs down as much as possible. However, it could be something they put in one of their line of pro cameras in the future. If they pair it with a pan camera, they could even put it in the section of the camera that is separated from the most heat (the motor) to minimize the temp interference.
It would be really cool if they integrated it as an option to use with their Thermostat.
i would put like but in return you like ideas:
- fix audio on v3
- add siren button in full screen mode on v3
- add rtsp to v4.
seriously though it is just another opportunity to put more bugs.
another reason to have not are hords of mba elements, more likely we will see another gadget called weather station than temperature/humidity sensor on camera
I like the idea of a thermometer built into the cameras.
