Has the Wyze lock been discontinued? The repair kit, the keypad, and the lock has been out of stock for a long time. The deadbolt lock is not a good replacement. If this lock is discontinued I will have to move on to another lock.
Also interested in this answer. The original Wyze lock will work as a keyless entry on my motorhome, where the complete Wyze Lock Bolt will not retrofit on a RV door. (There are numerous FB & YouTube videos of the install on a RV)
I have the same question. I have one and want to add another to the back door. I like that the exterior remains unchanged, and my existing Wyze Lock has been solid.
Here is what I put on my front door. I did not want a complete Smart lock. I wanted a keypad lock where I physically move the deadbolt. It also comes with a metal key in case needed. Been using it for a few months and very happy with it.
That looks nice. I really liked the original Wyze lock though because it was so minimal, it looked nice, and it integrated with home assistant. Plus the price point was hard to beat.
I have the same question. I need a new keypad and the entire lock system has been out of stock for a long time now.
Can someone from wyze respond?
I have been waiting MONTHS for this restock. It makes you think like they’re not restocking this particular item.
Waiting for this too. I would love the Wyze smart lock as it seems apartments friendly.
Looks like Wyze has released a new lock: Wyze Palm Lock - Released 9/16/2025
Although maybe a nice lock, that lock doesn’t replace the original. The original changes nothing from the outside. The original is kind of a perfect lock for what it does.
Agreed. I bought the original while living in an apartment and was able to install, and later remove, the lock with no visible changes to the door or existing lock.
Is anyone @wyze listening?
I’m waiting for a response from Wyze too. I love the original one and have a couple more doors I’d like to add one to. I don’t want or need biometric access. Same goes for the keypad. The original lock has been great!
Does anyone know if the new lock with the palm reader be used without the palm reader portion?
I just went and checked mine for you, I was able to delete both of my palm prints and ensure that it did not unlock when I tried to scan my hands, but my PIN code did still work as well as the app.
Thank you so much for testing that out! I meant without that entire module installed on the outside of the door. So it would have the Wyze box on the interior and the original keyway (e.g. from Kwikset, Schlage, Brinks, etc.) on the exterior. It would end up looking similar to the original Wyze lock. My guess is that it won’t because the brains/Wi-Fi module is likely on the palm reader side.
Again, my most sincere thanks for your efforts!
absolutely. im glad I saw this post in a reasonable time and was able to get you a quick and factual answer although I think I misintrepretted what you were asking. I have seen a lot of confusion around the palm vein scanning technology and a lot of people thinking that it is actually less secure and that is what I thought you were meaning in this.
I think you are right in that as the “brains” are effectively in the exterior side, this wouldnt be Effective or possibly work at all with another lock body on 1/2 of the door, something tells me the power connections connections wouldn’t work either as you know how companies use all their funny stuff just for them. ( stares Menacingly at apple) This is vastly different than the original lock which all of the brains were on the inside of the door.
but this is precisely what the maven team is here to do. we are simply community memebers aswell with friends in good places. if you ever need something like this feel free to tag in any one of us. if the person you tag in cant get an answer they will find you someone that can more than likely!

Because I happened to see that so many of you are both new to the Forum and have asked about Wyze Lock (“original”) availability, I’ve asked for a response from a Wyze Team member but haven’t yet heard back. I think the messaging on this could use some clarification, especially since there’s a comparison (Wyze Palm Lock, Wyze Lock Bolt, and Wyze Lock) near the bottom of the Palm Lock product page, and for Wyze Lock it says this: “Status: No longer available”. The Wyze Lock product page itself, however, says that it’s “Sold out” and “Out of stock” but also has the big “Notify me when back in stock!” button, so I think the confusion is understandable.
I’m not sure how much of the “brains” are in either portion of the device. If you watch the unboxing video that demonstrates installation, there’s a step where the exterior assembly routes a cable beneath the new bolt, and this cable connects to a circuit board on the interior assembly where the RESET button and battery connections (and possibly other things) are. I haven’t seen a disassembly of the product and don’t see photos in the FCC filings, so I’m not sure which assembly is doing what, but they work together with the included bolt latch, so this is a completely different animal when compared to the original Wyze Lock.
If/when I hear back from Wyze, I’ll plan to post an update here unless a Wyze Team member chooses to provide a personal response.
