Welcome to the club. I got my first 2 Wyze cameras 8 years ago. I now have over 50! Plus many of the other devices Wyze has offered over the years. No regrets.
Go into any company’s forums and you’ll find tons of complaints and angry people and it will seem like their stuff is garbage. But like you and @Mojoboogie, I’m happy with mine. Got a few on prime day two years ago, and a few more on sale since. For the price, it is really hard to beat the value. I’ve got neighbors with Ring and Blink that come to me for video since theirs is pretty much useless. They’re all gradually converting.
Just pulled a bunch of videos and images today for a neighbor.
I’d love to have uncompressed 4K or 8K going to a huge NVR or something, but for my needs, there is no reason to spend that kind of money or go to all that effort.
Are there gripes I have? Yeah. Actually a couple bugs right now that I actually have to caveat to people who ask which cams to buy, and they’ve been lingering since last year. 10-15 seconds to start streaming on v4 and Panv3s, very slow micro SD navigation on OGs, etc. But again, features vs price, I’m still happy overall. Maybe at some point I’ll move over to RTSP and have a better interface, eliminating both those bugs.
You don’t see many positive posts in this forum. Thanks for posting one. I just want to say that I have had V1s, V2s, V3s, and V4s, as well as other Wyze devices. The all have been great. And while I’m here, I want to give a shout-out to all the wonderful folks on this forum who try to help the people who are having problems.
