Getting many false positive alerts from the garage door

I have been using the Garage Door Controller with V3 camera for several months now. Unfortunately, the alerts have been very unreliable. For me the killer feature is the notification that the door has been left open for a period of time, and because it does not track opens and closes correctly the status is always wrong. I will get open and close notifications randomly throughout the day, some days more than others, but always when nothing is moving/changing in the garage. Potentially there is a sunlight/cloud issue since I have a window in the garage but otherwise there is no motion. Yesterday for 20 minutes I got constant open then immediate close notifications. I have recalibrated multiple times. Posting my setup and the history log. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I’m seeing this issue as well in a garage where the overhead lights are on motion sensors. I’m thinking it has something to do with reading the QR code in low or changing light conditions since it takes a finite amount of time for the camera to recognize a low light condition and turn on the IR lights. I’m going to install a spotlight on the v3 camera, set it to always on, and see if that resolves the issue. The spotlight only consumes 5W (and the spotlight is $10), so it’s a low-cost test.

I also have experienced flicking on the garage ceiling light (without opening the door) triggering the open/close detection. It is a good theory that switching to IR can be a cause because a sunny but cloudy day can cause the IR lights on and off frequently.

For my setup I lowered the QR code on the garage door to the middle instead of the top, recalibrated, and have had better results of late.

I have been getting the same behavior.

Support: Can you move the QR Code above the door on the condition that a open door hides the QR code?
